MICHAEL
“What did you do?” you demand as you approach Michael, who has a little girl clinging to his leg, bawling.
“I didn’t do anything,” he says, desperately gesturing to the girl, “The kid was crying when she ran up and attached herself to my leg.”
“Hey, sweetie,” you say, crouching down next to the little girl. Her blonde pig-tails bounce as she turns to look at you with watery, blue eyes.
“Hi,” she murmurs quietly, and she reluctantly pulls away from a startled Michael.
“I see you’re crying,” you say to the girl in a calm voice, “Do you want to tell me why?”
“I can’t,” she say through tears, and Michael crouches down next to you, “my mum.”
“I used to lose my mum all the time,” Michael laughs, “Why don’t we help you find your mum, kiddo?”
The girl nods quietly, and both Michael and you stand up.
“So, what’s your name?” you ask.
“Annie,” she says quietly as the three of you begin to go through the park.
“Well, I’m (Y/N) and this is Michael,” you tell her, “Where did you last see your mum?”
“By the slide,” she says, pointing to the far end of the park.
“Let’s start there then,” Michael says. When you all make it over there, a woman resembling Annie runs around with a panicked expression. You all make your way over to her, and as soon as she sees Annie, relief covers her face.
Once all is said and done, Michael and you walk back towards home, hand-in-hand.
“I say we never go to this park again,” Michael says, and you laugh.
"I agree."
CALUM
“I can’t sleep,” you whisper as Calum and you lay in bed at 12:45 a.m.
“Me neither,” he whispers back.
“We should go to the park,” you say, sitting up as Calum does the same.
“Okay,” her replies. You both bolt out of bed, put on sweats and hoodies, slip on a pair of shoes, and head out the front door. You two walk to the park in a comfortable silence with intertwined hands.
As soon as you see the park, you let go of Calum’s hand and dash for the swings.
“Calum!” you yell as you reach the swings, “Push me!”
“You’re as bad as the boys,” he laughs, but he comes up behind you and begins to push you. Soon, the two of you find yourselves at the top of the slides, holding hands.
“Are you tired yet?” you ask.
“No,” Calum shakes his head, “So…what do you want to do?”
“Let’s just talk,” you say, “Tell me….what you’re thinking about.”
“I’m thinking about…the pizza we had for lunch today,” he says, turning to grin at you.
“It wasn’t very good,” you say, scrunching your face up in disgusted remembrance.
“No, it wasn’t,” he laughs, “But spending the day with you was pretty fun.”
“You’re not too bad yourself,” you say, bumping your shoulder into his.
“Good,” he nods, “because I plan on sticking around so I can bother you for a bit longer.”
“I like that plan,” you nod with him, “I like that plan a lot.”
"Me too," Calum smiles.
ASHTON
“No!” you squeal as you hurry up the stairs, down the slide, and away from a giggling Ashton that just happens to be chasing you around the park.
“I’m going to get you! I always do!” Ashton laughs as he follows you down the slide. You let out a laugh as you run for a small hill, Ashton right behind you.
As soon as you reach the top of the hill, Ashton’s strong arms wrap around your waist, stopping your running and pulling you into his chest.
“Ash!” you laugh, attempting to wiggle free, “Let me go!”
“Never!” he laughs with you, beginning to spin you around. With one final strive for freedom, you thrash around, but you end up accidentally kicking Ashton’s feet. Ashton falls to the grass with you still in his arms.
“(Y/N)!” Ashton groans from underneath of you in what sounds like pain, his arms remaining secure around your waist.
The two of you continue to just lie on the soft, dewy grass until you both feel his phone vibrate.
“Yes?” he says after a struggle of getting it out of his pocket, “We’re at the park…yes…we’re at the park at 5:29 a.m. because we have major jet lag.”
"Who is it?” you ask.
“Calum,” Ashton tells you, moving the phone slightly away from his mouth, “The boys want to know where we went so early.”
“We found a really cool park!” you yell happily.
“Indeed we did,” he says into the phone, “So…bye!”
As soon as he hangs up, he slides his phone into his pocket and gives you a smirk. Just before you can ask, hes arms find your waist once more, and he begins to roll down the hill.
LUKE
“(Y/N)!” Luke yells as the two of you continue to crawl through the tunnels of the large park.
“What?” you yell as you reach the top of the slide.
“Are we going to get into trouble?” Luke asks, popping up next to you. You shrug.
“It’s not like there’s any kids here,” you say. Luke nods.
The two of you head down the slide, and once your feet hit the ground, you turn to look at Luke.
“Now what should we do?” you ask.
“Hmm…I bet,” Luke grins down at you from his inhuman height, “that you can’t climb up the really big, twirled slide over there.”
“Watch me,” you grin before heading over to the slide. You step onto the slide, grabbing a hold of the slide and begin the treacherous journey to the top.
“Is that as fast as you can go?” Luke taunts from the bottom.
“Shut up!” you laugh, still climbing, “I’m almost there!”
You reach the top and stand to grin at a nodding Luke. You slide back down, and you punch Luke’s shoulder once you reach him.
“I win,” you say, “Now let’s go!”
Both of you run straight to the playground, and you do what any pair of responsible, almost-adults would do: act like six-year-olds.
And boy is it fun.
The two of you carry on goofing around and laughing until a loud voice cuts your fun off.
“Excuse me,” both of you turn to look at a very angry parent, “Could the two of you please get out of the children’s park?"
Without a word, Luke grabs your hand, and you quietly walk out of the park with matching, sneaky smiles.
