Music was playing from some corner some where but, my attention was elsewhere. The warmth of the place was almost unbearable but, I didn't move, my feet stuck in place. "What are you doing here?" I heard a soft voice whisper behind me. I turned and watched red blossom in her pale cheeks. "Why do you think I'm here?" She chewed on her lower lip before grabbing my shirt collar and pulling me into her, her lips meeting mine. I wrapped my arms around her waist, the butterflies that had once fluttered in my stomach gone as I lifted her up, setting her back against the wall and her legs wrapped around me.
She pulled off her shirt and started unbuttoning mine as I kissed her neck, her hair tickling my nose and her breath hot against my shoulder as my shirt fell to the floor. I carried her to the couch and set her down where she pulled me into her, her lips against mine. She chewed on my lower lip a soft giggle escaped her lips when she pulled away.
The heat in the room seemed to be rising as we kissed, my head became foggy as I ran my fingers through her hair, trying to focus on her. "Maybe we should stop," I whispered, her breath hot against my neck. "But, I thought-" I stumbled backwards, the room spinning. "I need water." She slowly nodded. "I'll go get some." She walked away, confusion twisting her expression, and guilt bubbling in my stomach. I couldn't do this to her. She was a distraction not whatever that was. It wasn't fair to either of them. I quietly grabbed my things and paused, the horrid feeling that was dripping into my brain grew louder as I looked around, seeing her clothes scattered across the floor, the pillows that had laid on the couch now sitting on the floor. The room was a mess, a crime scene where guilt seeped into our clothes, into the walls, into the couch. I chewed on my lower lip and ran out of her apartment. Ran away knowing she would be hurt. Ran away knowing she would never look at me the same way again. Ran away with guilt eating away at my brain.
