Celeste's POV

Our house prefect had shown us our dorms, luckily, me and lily shared a dorm along with two other girls. Molly and Alice.

Let's just say we got on straight away, we spent ages talking about different things.

" have you heard about black? He's in griffindor! I honestly can't believe it!"
Alice exclaimed.

"and with him hanging with Potter, there's going to be a lot of trouble. I can feel it." lily said. " I heard them talking about pranks all the way through lunch!"

"You do realise that James Potter was staring at you throughout lunch? You've already got yourself an admirer on the first day!" I teased, lily threw a pillow at me.

"what do you think class is going to be like? " Molly Asked.

" I heard that professor slughorn is nice " Alice said.

"oh! I need to write my aunt! " I yelled in realization.

" Avalon! " I yelled, sure enough, Avalon, my owl, came flying towards me.

" I need to write my parents too, they want to know all about it!" lily yelled, getting a piece of paper from her bag, and writing. Like I was.

Dear aunt Lisa,
Everything is amazing here,
I made new friends AND I got into griffindor! I'm excited for tomorrow and I promise to tell you all about it. I hope Theo's alright. I didn't into any trouble... Yet.

I let Avalon deliver the letter and I started talking with Alice and Molly til lily finished writing.

It wasn't until we had too sleep, that we stopped chatting.

" Alright class, I am professor slughorn and I will be tour potions teacher for this year. I trust you enough to sit next to someone responsible. So lets get started shall we?" 

We had potions with slytherin,
I was sitting next to lily, only one day in and we're inseparable. "who can tell e what a bezoar is? " three hands shot up.
Mine, Lily's and Remus'.

"miss Evans!"
" A stone in a guard stomach that will save you from most poisons." she stated.

" wonderful! Now today, you and your partners are going to turn to page 154 and make the potion shown. First pair to successfully complete the potion will receive ten points each"

Me and lily looked at each other excitedly. " I'll get the ingredients." I said. I returned to lily reading the instructions and we got started.

It only took us ten minutes before out potion turned to the right shade of red. Lily and I shot our hands up at the same time, eager to get the pointd for
our house .

Slughorn over and inspected our potion carefully before beaming proudly at us.

"Looks like we have our winners! Miss  Evans and miss onyx, 10 points each to griffindor. "

Me and lily High fived, ignoring the moaning slytherins. My hair involuntarily turned bright yellow, lily gasped, I looked at her confused.

"your hair!" she exclaimed, " Your a metamorphmagus?!"

I changed my hair to its usual color, but my face was red with embarrassment. Aunt Lisa told me she would help me control my hair and eyes from changing color but it was sometimes really hard.

I tried to ignore the surprised stares I was getting and professor slughorn raised a brow.

"that's amazing! In best friends with metamorphmagus!" lily gasped.

Potions class finished and lily walked to transfiguration with me.

" so your telling me, you could change any way you looked, but you don't?"
"I'm just happy with who I am and I'm not going to change that."

After professor mcGonagall introduced herself , she did she was going to assign us with someone else herself. Lily and I weren't very happy of course.

"miss Evans with Mr Potter, Mr Lupin with Mr pettigrew, Mr Black and Miss Onyx, Mr Weasley with Mr Snape~"

I moved from my seat to sit next to black, who was slouched in his chair without the slightest of interest in the lesson. I sit next to him and open my book to the page given.

It was about animagi, werewolves and metamorphmagus, I smirked knowing I'd be good at it and at the corner of my eye I could see lily holding her self back from killing Potter.

"Who can tell me the difference between werewolves and animagi? "

Only two hands went up, mine and Remus'.

"Ms Onyx"

" An animagus has a choice to transform into a human or animagi form, however a werewolf has no choice , each full moon, they transform and no longer remember who they were before, unless under the influence of the polyjuice potion."

" Well done, 15 points to griffindor. I'm surprised you know this stuff, since it is third year knowledge."

I blushed a bit and stopped my hair from turning pink successfully.

"now, who can tell me what a metamorphmagus is?"

"yes Mr lupin,"

"A Metamorphmagus is a witch or wizard who has the ability to change their appearance at will, without the need for a wand, spell, or potion. If they cannot control their abilities dully, their hair or eyes change color depending on how they are feeling." Remus stated.

"exactly right Mr lupin. Metamorphmagi abilities are hard to keep fully in control. " she eyed me suspiciously. Did she know?
Was it bad to be a metamorphmagus?

" are you confused miss onyx?" professor questioned, I shook my head and black snickered beside me, what's so funny?

"your hair." she said, a ghost of a smile on her face.
I looked at my long dark blonde hair, except, it wasn't dark blonde.
It was grey, meaning confusion. I changed it back to its normal color and rested my cheek on my palm.

" now, today, we will be studying the witches and wizards who have these different abilities. Weather they are useful abilities or just a load of trouble. Now, take notes down, and then I would like you to write an essay about thus for homework, due next lesson. Go to the library if you need to. You must complete this essay individually. "
