The Battle for the Dragon Flame

Chapter 5: The Beginning

Bloom leaves Daphne's room with Daphne following close behind. They run to Serina's crib to check for the welt. Sure enough, the welt was back on the side of her forehead, in the exact same spot at before. "Oh my god it's back" Bloom wailed, almost hyperventilating. Daphne put her hands on Bloom's shoulders and said "Bloom, you can heal it. It's okay, calm down. Everything will be okay" and brought Bloom to her. Her embrace calmed Bloom and the familiar smell of the sea in her sister was also calming. Bloom pulled away and looked at Serina. "I love you baby girl and I won't let the Trix hurt you. I promise. No matter what threat comes your way, I will always throw myself in front of you to protect you" and at those words, the welt went away on its own and Serina suddenly changed. Her skin glowed a radiant yellow-orange. Her strawberry-blonde hair grew to her shoulders, and she almost outgrew her crib. Daphne and Bloom stood there in shock, bewilderment showing on both of their faces. Neither of them had seen a human being respond to heartfelt words in that way. Then, Serina sat up in her crib and opened her eyes. They were glowing indigo. Bloom shuddered and looked at Daphne who was looking at Bloom, very concerned. Then Serina spoke "you better watch yourself fairies. We have complete control. Next, we take the Dragon Flame." It was Icy and Darcy talking through Serina. Then Serina fell limp. She was sleeping again. Bloom started pacing around the room, holding her head in her hands. "Oh my god. Oh my god. Serina" Bloom wailed. "Bloom, everything is going to be okay" Daphne consoled. Daphne hugged her sister and they went back to bed.
Even though Bloom was supposed to be sleeping, she couldn't stop thinking about what Icy and Darcy had said. "How are they planning on taking the Dragon Flame?" Bloom thought to herself.
