I picture his big brown eyes. Theo. He was so big and strong and he seemed so cuddly and warm. I just wished his big arms were around me again.
What are you thinking Shailene? He's like 5 years older than you. You shouldn't be thinking about him.
But I think about Theo anyway. I've waited all night and much of today resisting to text him. I didn't want to seem to clingy, I guess. But he was such a beautiful man, inside and out.
I opened my Messages and started a new message. I slowly type, thinking about my message.
Hi, Theo, how's it going?
It sounds pathetic even for me but I send it anyway. Surprisingly, he immediately replies.
Good, how about you? Do you wanna see a movie today or something?
The butterflies inside attack. A movie?? Oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh!!!
That sounds great. What time?
I patiently wait for a reply.
How about 4:30 for Captain America? I'll pick you up.
I resist from screaming out loud with excitement.
Sure! I live in Apartment 4C on 84th and Rosaville.
Okay! I'll see you then!
I can't seem to contain my smile. It's 3:00 right now, he would be here in an hour.
I take a shower and tie my hair in a messy bun. I grab something casual to wear and wait on the couch, watching my door, unable to hold my excitement in.
As I flip open my magazine, the door bell rings. I get up slowly, not wanting to seem over eager (although I was).
I open the door and smile. Theo stands there in a simple t shirt with a black triangle on it. He wears jeans.
Theo's voice fills in the silence. "You ready?"

I grab Shai's arm and resist not staring at her. She looks absolutely beautiful.
What are you doing, Theo? You're taking out a random girl to the movies when you are engaged!
I shut the voice out of my head and walk Shai to my car. I hold open the passenger seat door for her.
"Why, thank you, Mr. Theo." She laughs and curtsies.
"My pleasure."
I climb in the driver's seat and start the engine. We talk casually about almost what it seems like everything, and Shai always keeps a smile on my face. I barely knew this girl, but it seemed like we have been laughing together for years.
After the movie, which was arguably fantastic, I ride the elevator up with Shai. I casually grab her hand and she laces her fingers in mine. She leans her head on my chest. "Thanks for all of it. I had so much fun." My heart pounds against my chest and I smile towards her, trying to keep my cool. "It's my pleasure, Shailene. You are quite the woman." She blushes and squeezes my hand. The elevator arrives on the 4th floor. Our fingers stay entwined.
We walk to her door and Shailene loosens our fingers. I wish I could hold on forever. "So, Theo. I had a wonderful time, see you soon again?" I just nod because admittedly, I'm sad she has to go and I have to leave her. Then I remember.
"Hey, uh, Shai, would you like to go to dinner with me? I mean, I've got these vouchers for two at this fancy restaurant in town, and I'm free tonight, and I was wondering if you wanted to go or not....." I try my best not to sound awkward.
