The "Present"

Maya's POV

Oh My God Jonah proposed I'm so happy finally i can start my life with my love and its gonna be so incredible. We all gathered in the living room around the tree to do the "giving tree" the giving tree is a tradition in my family that's been going on for generations. Where we all get presents for specific people in our family and one person looks at the names and we pass it around until it gets to the person it belongs to then we say stop. "Stop!" i said as my present to Jonah was handed to him and whoever the present is from they say "me". He smiled as i said "me" Jonah was a huge Green Day fan so i knew exactly what to get him. He opened the wrapped package to see a Green Day watch "oh my god! thanks Maya i love this so much baby" he said as he got up to hug me it lasted for about 2 hours until there was only one package left under the tree it was addressed to me. "That's funny there's no name of who its from but its for you Maya" my mother said handing me a small box as i unwrapped it i stopped. "Well you gonna open it baby?" Jonah said i nodded smiling i opened the box and i froze my stomach dropped and i began to feel sick at the sight i saw i was terrified.

It was Esther's choker......i threw the box as i backed up against the wall i felt like i couldn't breath i hate to admit it but i was scared....really scared Jonah ran to me everyone looked confused. Riley picked up the box and opened it she screamed and ran to the main door "RILEY NO!!!!" I screamed my mother picked up the box and gasped my father quickly grabbed the box and studied the choker "its definitely hers" he said his voice shaking with fear. "Riley lock all the windows and doors now! ill do the upstairs" my father said jumping up from the couch "what's going on???". Jonah said worried me and mom looked at each other "sit down" i said as he sat on the sofa then we told him everything about Charles and Esther about the orphanage and them murdering Eve everything and surprisingly....he believed us. My parents decided it would be best for our safety if we stayed with them for the night the house was very large and the living room was the largest room. So we all decided we need to stay together in case something happens so we all decided to sleep in the living room it was obvious they still knew we lived there how else did she manage to find us and get her choker in the house????.

We recently had some neighbors move on the other side of us its a family of 3 a couple that's probably in their mid 30s they also have a 8 year old daughter that goes to Allen's old Elementary school. The new neighbors came over this morning to introduce themselves we talked to them and their daughter for a bit they are very nice and their daughter is adorable. Mom wanted to tell them about Esther and Charles but i told her to wait a while so we can get to know them we don't want them thinking were insane. So the next day they were having car trouble they had a friend coming to take them to work but couldn't get their daughter Alessa to school and back so i offered to take her to school and pick her up for a while because i don't have to be back at school for 3 weeks to get my stuff and graduate. So i planned on taking Alessa to school so i decided to pick her up a little early and drive by McDonalds to get breakfast around 7:30am i dropped Alessa off at school "have a good day kid ill be here after school to get you" i said as she got out the car "M-Maya???" she said "yeah Alessa?" i said "can-can you walk me inside i want you to meet my teacher i laughed and went inside. Apparently Alessa has Allen's 3rd grade teacher i got home and decided to make some coffee "hey Maya" Riley said walking downstairs i laughed "whatcha makin?" she asked curiously "coffee want some???" i asked "yeah sure why not" she replied. We were sitting at the counter talking when Riley spotted a piece of paper on the backdoor "it's probably from mom or dad they're not here" i said Riley got up to get it as she read it her eyes got big as she screamed i took the note and this is what it said

Dear Maya,

              Its been a really long time since the incident oh don't you remember????? you pushed me down and beat me in front of my baby brother. Anyway guess what? we got adopted.......hopefully my new family doesn't treat us as terribly as you did we wouldn't want them to end up like Eve would we now????? I'm really looking forward to seeing you guys again.
