I looked over at the Doctor absolutely petrified. What type of thing could induce so much fear in me? The only thing I wanted to do was run. My feet moved back unknowingly as my eyes stayed fixed on the door.

"Right. You two stay here. I'm going out." The Doctor announced.

"Um. No you’re not. I'm coming with you." Replied Clara stubbornly.

"You have no idea what is behind this door Clara. You are staying right here." He towered over her his eyes darkening as he did so. He opened the door and was about to close it behind himself but Clara wedged her foot in between keeping the door open.

I acted on instinct. She couldn’t see what was out there, and they couldn’t know she was in here. I sprinted towards her and grabbed her wrist. I yanked her back as hard as I could pulling her behind and me in front.

"Hey, what do you think you are doing? ahh!" I threw her away from the door and back into the safety of the Tardis. She staggered back with a look of shock and disbelief. I tried to remain in the Tardis but the weight of her body threw me off balance. My feet staggered oddly beneath me until I knew they would give way. My hands reached for anything to clutch onto but there wasn’t anything but the air and the look of Clara's face in the distance, she advanced forward in a futile effort to save me, but it was too late. My back slammed against the shutting doors which threw them back open and I tumbled out.

"Ouch." I squinted at the dazzling light above me, my eyes fluttered to adjust to such brightness but it didn't work. Instead, I turned my body onto my stomach and pushed myself up off the floor.

I didn't take in my surrounding after that. I couldn't possibly. They were loads of them entrapping us both in a disfigured circle. They were armed and pointing in our direction. How could I have forgotten such horrible things?

I could smell the metallic evil radiating of them. It was instilled in my memory like I hadn't ever forgotten it. But I had never really forgotten it. Because they haunted nearly every nightmare. They killed and slaughtered mercilessly. They were the tall horrific monster’s that killed my family, I was the only one who escaped.

The thin layer of sweat covered my body again as the adrenaline coursed through every cell of my body. I couldn't feel it though. I couldn't feel anything but their dominating presence. My eyes did not stray from them but I could see the Doctor looking over at me. I had interrupted one of his speeches with my blunder.

"What, is, this?" The leader said advancing towards us. I staggered back defensively hitting the closed doors of the Tardis. Clara couldn't be heard on the other side. Maybe she realised the danger and decided to keep quiet. If only I could be in her shoes right now where it was safer.

"This is my companion. Nothing to be worried about. Just a human."

"Humanoid". It interrupted.

"No. A human." Argued the Doctor. "From the Planet Earth. You know, that level 5 planet you aren't supposed to touch yet you end up on the planet every couple of years or so. That one."

"Scan. Her." Another called from the background.

One of them moved closer, its bronze frame coming closer. "Stay away..." I whimpered.

"It's alright Cali. There just scanning you to see what species you are. Everything will be alright, I promise". His eyes reassured me.

"But they are Daleks..." I murmured. He gave a quick look of surprise, but it quickly vanished and his features resumed their normal stature. You could see it in his eyes. The question still lingered there, 'how did you know?'

Everything will be fine. They won't hurt you. Yet. I tried to look at the Doctor but he wasn’t looking at me. I needed to tell him I knew them, that they destroyed my planet just like they destroyed his.

A machine moved then, it came right in front of me and emitted a blue light that covered the entirety of my body.

"Where did you get one of those-?"

"Silence!" Exclaimed the leader. The Doctor became quiet but he hadn't given up whatever he was planning.

Two Daleks moved to the screen of the scanner which probably displayed every signal cell, chromosome and protein in my body.

The silence resonated through the air as thick as fog. Something wasn't right. You could feel it, even inhale it.

"Impossible" Announced one of them. I looked over at them started. What had they found?

"Impossible!" Shouted the other even louder, angrier than the first.

"You lair!" accused the first one moving away from the screen towards the Doctor. He backed away slowly, not with fear though. How could he keep so cool? Does he know what they are?

"What are you talking about?" Asked the Doctor.

"She is not the human you said she was. You lied. You, lied!" Called the leader again. Its head moved towards me then, its whole body followed after its bronzed metal shining in the bright light. It moved closer and closer. I wanted to beg and plead and cry for escape. I didn't want to be there. I wanted to go home where it was safe! The tears rushed down my cheeks blurring my vision. Nothing escaped my mouth besides a small whimper of "Please, don't..." I knew what was coming. But I couldn't do anything to stop it.

"Exterminate!" It called.

No, no, no! I glanced at the Doctor. Everything seemed to move slower, slow enough so I could see everything. The Doctor screaming and reaching for his pocket. The Dalek aiming for me, all the rest watching the performance. But it wasn't slow enough, it wasn't slow enough for me to move out the way. I heard the sound of the Doctors green screwdriver he carried around. I smelt fear, sweat and the metal from the spectators. I felt my whole body shaking with exhaustion and shock. I could see the Dalek fire at me without as much as a second thought, without any sympathy. It could only feel hate and victory.

The pain was excruciating. I could feel the core of the pain in the centre of my stomach but spasms also vibrated throughout my entire body. My vision ceased immediately. I staggered back from the pain but my body couldn't hold it any more. My knees relieved and I caved to the floor.

"Nooooo!" I heard a muffled male voice cry. Was it the Doctor? Wait, who? My mind couldn't comprehend nothing but the wound in my stomach. My arms cradled my stomach as the warm liquid poured out of me in uncontrollable amounts. I smelt the burning of my skin just like the child from my dream whose shoulder had been singed off to the bone. I curled up into a ball hoping it would stop the pain. But it didn’t the pain intensified, black blotches covered my vision. My heart stopped beating.

My arms went limb along with the rest of my body. I felt myself tumble to the side and hit the cold floor. My body went numb, my liver shut down. My lungs were straining to breathe but the heart had stopped thus ceasing the blood supply. I looked up and up and saw a figure moving around, I didn’t know what he was doing.

I closed my eyes as my lungs gave up the fight. My body had already anesthetised every inch of me. It was blissful. I should have known I couldn’t stay safe forever. My body drained of blood, oxygen and life. I collapsed into nothingness.
