Chapter 5: Doors and Pain

  "What is this place?" I heard Amara's voice coming down the stairs "But more importantly, why am I here?" she asked grumpily

  I rolled my face and turned around to face her "Look, we have bigger problems than asking ourselves 'why did these cruel people let us alone with Amara to kill ourselves? Don't they want us alive?'," I asked annoyed by her attitude

 She mumbled something under her breath when all the guys came down. The first one in view was Carter; he looked around with wide eyes. Next it was Nathaniel passing by me with all the confidence in the world to grab a chocolate bar from the boxes

  "At least they had the decency to give us chocolate, I am so not complaining," he said while making his way to the steel bench and chomping on his chocolate bar.

  A new guy entered my vision and he stood right in front of me, like literally, I could feel his breath tickling my lips. I took a step back by surprise and he had a big goofy smile plastered in his face "Hi!" he screamed enthusiastically "I'm Henry, I know you're Luna because Nathaniel told me you were annoying, but I don't seem to find you annoying," he said happily while throwing his arm around my shoulder. I was still looking at him like he had a dragon's heads

  "Okay" It was meant to be a solid answer but it came out as a question as I extended my respond

  He smiled brightly at me once again, he reminds me of Caleb.

  Oh my God... CALEB!

  I threw the brightly kid's arm away from me and started pacing. Did they know I was kidnapped? Did Charlie... Oh God, Charlie will flip if he finds out! What if Charlie is throwing punches at every kid that goes in his way? I know he's not capable of hurting someone but... oh wait, he is capable of hurting someone. He was in a stupid fight! Did my foster parents even notice I was gone? What if Kayla is throwing a party because of my disappearance? She wouldn't do that, would she? I mean I know she hates me with everything she has but that doesn't give her the permission to throw a freaking party! What about my friends? My female friends? Would they miss me? What stupid rumor will invent the barbies and idiots at my school about my disappearance? Maybe they won't even know I disappeared. Of course they will! I was known as the sarcastic girl with bad temper. Maybe they'll say I got pregnant or something. I shook my head. That a stupid rumor, but they are capable of sayi--

  "Luna!" Carter screamed at me from across the room

  My feet stopped pacing and stood still for a minute; I turned around but kept my stance "What?" I whispered knowing he wouldn't hear me

  My mind was still on a roller coaster. What is this place?

  "Hey, are you okay?" I felt a hand on my shoulder. I follow the hand until I saw his face

  "Yes I'm okay Carter," I answered, but then frowned "Weren't you over there just now?" I pointed forward where he was

  He took his hand off my shoulder and shrugged "Yes, and I walked here when I saw you were just standing there,"

  "Oh, right, okay. So, we need to find what is this place and why are we here," I said louder so that everyone could hear me

  "And what person in this room elected you as the leader?" I heard Nathaniel's voice behind me and I instantly rolled my eyes

  I turned around and saw him with an eyebrow raised "Well, it seems as I am the only sane person who wants to leave this hellhole so I took the lead since none of your lazy asses want to get out," I finished and smiled at him sweetly "Does that answer your question, dearie?"
