Chapter 7: Thoughts, Explanation, Training Center
"So, what's the deal for today? Aliens are going to come through the wall and eat us all?" Nathaniel said as I came down the stairs
"Or maybe dragons will come flying here and grab you to eat you. Now that would be fun, wouldn't it?" I asked with fake enthusiasm
He frowned and lay back at the table. I looked around and all the boys were here except Landon. Carter and Henry were talking, Nathaniel was alone with his eyes closed, the twins sat together at the back and Amara is sitting next to Nathaniel flicking his ear.
I walked towards Carter and they stopped talking when they saw me. I opened my mouth to speak but Henry crushed me with a hug "Oh Luna, I thought you were dead. I mean, Nathaniel -I think I'm gonna call him Nate- told me someone got left behind and then he said it was you so I panicked but now you're here which means you're okay," he said in one breath and let me go "Except maybe you're a robot," he gasped and placed his face right in front of mine "Let go of her you idiots, do not invade my best friends body! I will cut you to pieces and feed you to the dogs once you guys leave us!" he screamed at me looking at me straight in to my eyes
"Henry," I said with a sweet voice as I placed my hands in his face. He looked at me with relief and then I slapped both of his cheeks but not full force "I am not a fricking robot!" I screamed at him as he did to me, not even ten seconds ago
He step back out of my arms and touched his cheeks "Cranky." he mumbled and walked away
I turned to Nathaniel and he was chuckling quietly to himself and I crossed my arms "I'm sorry, do I amuse you?" I asked him
He composed himself and smiled "Yes actually, you do," he winked at me and laughed
I rolled my eyes but smiled, nonetheless. "Hey Carter, where's Landon?" I asked him with a serious face. I needed everyone here
"He's still in the room. As Henry said, Nathaniel did say someone got left behind and he did said it was you so Landon hasn't left the room since. It's not like he could, since we can't until they decide." he rolled his eyes and crossed his arms
"Oh, well I'm going to go get him because we need to talk... all of us" he looked at me confused and intrigued but I just turned around and headed to the stairs.
When I reached the top of the stairs I noticed their door was closed so I didn't know where the door was exactly. I tried to remember how many steps it takes to get to the door from the stairs but failed miserably. So I settled for the best option. I started knocking and kicking the wall until the door opened.
Landon was standing there and he locked his eyes with mine. His eyes widened for a second but then it was normal. He looked at me from top to bottom and shook his head side to side as if shaking some thought out of his mind. I arched an eyebrow and waited for him to say something.
"I thought you got left behind," he said quietly
"Didn't anyone noticed that I was the one who screamed 'Room, now' and was the first one to run?" I asked him walking closer to him
"Yeah, everyone heard you but--" I cut him off
"And you believe Nathaniel? The idiot that is annoying and likes to tease me?"
He let out a chuckle and ran his fingers through his hair "Yeah, I guess it was stupid to believe him," he sent me a half smile
"Yeah, smooth move," I rolled my eyes playfully and smiled but then turned serious again "We need to talk, all of us." he nodded and we walked side by side
