Okay, hi to start with :)
First of all, I'd like to apologise to all the people that check up on my patty walters story and I've never bloody updated, I've just been doing stuff with my life (shock horror, I know right?) and my Ipad is in repairs and my laptop is a twat but that's really no excuse, I should have updated by now and I haven't so I do apologise but I do have a life, but lets not get into that sempiternal debate between demanding readers and stressed authors.
I like doing these because the fanfic is fun to write and all that, but I feel like this website is more a place to be creative and connect to people around the world and share ideas and suggestions and opinions, and no one really seems to do that a lot anymore. Its more 'oi you, frigging update!' and that just pressures people. Same concept as the more a teacher bugs you for homework you haven't done, the more you get stressed over it and literally cannot do it because you're so stressed. The pressure put on authors by some users on here makes us feel like fish out of water, so please lets all be nice to each other.
There is a tiny bone I'd like to pick with a certain user, but I shall not name names. But if you are reading this, please pay attention.
Okay, so as its always said on here all feedback and comments and stuff are all always appreciated, right? Imma explain you a thing right here. Yeah, all of that is appreciated for two reasons. One is I don't know about other authors, but the majority of writers on here seem to love to interact and communicate with the readers of their works, and they most likely do love to. The second reason is, and this is very blunt and most writers wont admit it because its very selfish per say, or another word along the same lines, but the more comments, votes and reads there are on say a story they've written, the more popular it becomes. It pops up on the persons thingy (you know the doodle that's there when you log in) and their followers see it and it just spreads like the cold. Its human nature, whatever we do we want to do it well, and the more popular the thing we've done becomes, the more we feel we've done well, but its mostly we love to interact with the readers.
Another thing is though, no matter how invaluable all the comments are, as they give us a chance to interact with readers, please take into consideration that we spend a long time on say a chapter and the plot and characters that go into making up that sole chapter, let alone the whole story. So please think, comments such as ''WTF XD'' are appreciated because publicity etc etc, but honestly, was that necessary? I'm not digging you out or whatever, but honestly, I'd love to interact and be friends with every single person that reads it, but how can I interact with you when you leave a comment such as that which only makes me want to be rude and quite snide and sarcastic towards you? By all means express your opinions, but please be more diplomatic per say. If this offends you then by all means hit me up or whatever, I'd love to chat, but hey, come on, this is my opinion and I'm allowed it.
Alright, bone picked and discarded, moving forward onto the next thing I'd like to address while in the process of doing this
Please don't think I'm an arse because I may not have replied to your direct message or whatever, as I've mentioned my ipad is in repairs and my laptop is an arse and doesn't let some through, so I cant reply to a message I cant read. I only know that they're there because I get an email through on my phone but I can only see the user that's sent it and sadly cannot reply to messages on my phone. I honestly love messages and having little chats with any of you (but be nice or I shall not resist sassing you) and I do understand that I'm talking like I'm wattpad famous or have loads of followers or whatever, and I'm not, but that's a good thing, gives me a chance to interact with you lot and maybe make some new friends.
This is where you guys really come in. As horrifying as this may be to some (don't hurt me kay?), I' beginning to look for ways to close off this patty walters fan fic. I understand that its popular to a degree and that some of you really want updates, but books don't go on forever, so I'd like you guys to have an input when It comes to ending the story. I feel like I'm asking for help with killing one of my babies. But it must be done, third trimester of school is coming up and I need to focus a lot on my studies and all that tish. You guys, pff, there's maybe like four of you that actually want updates and come back to check if there has been an update, but you four or less mean a lot to me, and if you'd like to chat and pitch in an idea or suggestion hit me up in my inbox or whatever, I'll put my kik at the bottom of this doodle thing whatever this because I check that more than here and its a lot quicker. Or hit me up on twitter and tweet me the link to your favourite song at the moment or whatever, then that gives us something to talk about, introduces me to some new music which I'm in some serious need of right now, there's only so many times a girl can listen to every single falling in reverse song there is. Plus then we can follow each other and throw about some ideas or whatever. I'm trying to be subtle about all this, but honestly, I just wanna give anyone who wants to chat with me a chance to chat. Like anyone would even wanna talk to me anyways but I remain ever hopeful.
Also, I've decided that now I'm closing off the whole Patty Walters story, I'm going to need things to work on, so I guess I'll do requests or commissions or whatever they're called, but I'd appreciate it if no one asked for um *cough* smut *cough*. Not because I feel awkward writing it, my real life friends know that I have some seriously dirty mind and anything that sounds even slightly like an innuendo I will turn into an innuendo, its just I'd like to keep with the actually needs effort sorta work, not just watch an adult film then write it adding in the characters writing. It doesn't have to be fanfics, I do have some brain cells I can use to create some characters, you just gotta describe them and what you'd like to happen in the story I guess, you cant create something out of nothing they say right?
To tell the blunt truth, I'm not going to follow everyone back. I can tell if you're someone who follows people to get followers, so since you're doing that I'm not going to believe that you're following me because you like my work, and if only following people that are smaller accounts means people think I'm a piss pot then that's fine, but if you're doing okay then what you're doing is clearly working so Imma leave you to that little façade of a setup you've got going on.
I was chatting to a guy the other day and long story short, he's the singer in a band called Decadent Society and they make some awesome music, and they're trying so hard to do well, playing gigs and all that (and getting drunk like a lot of bands but that's just what people do) and I'd recommend checking them out on youtube, the singers a really talented and nice guy and their music is one man mosh pit in your bedroom worthy. I shall admit that I could have updated while on my Easter break, but I needed the recuperation time you know? I shall attempt to update in the three days I have off school in the coming week, which will either be the blunt killing off of a character or an update working towards the ending of the story.
I could go on forever, but I am thinking of doing this thing called the thirty day letter challenge. It will improve my linguistic and sentence building skills, hopefully my typing skills too, so anyone who would like to get to know me better or is just plain bloody nosy will probably have the time of their lives reading that.
I don't think that I shall take this down when the next update goes up, this has taken me like an hour to write, too much effort. Maybe I will, you never know.
Anyways, right now its quarter to three in the morning of the Monday I believe, so I do need to get some rest, and lets pray to god that this frigging uploads unlike the four previous attempts.
