"Wake up. Intervention." My best friend, James smiled, walking into my bedroom and pulling open the curtains for the first time in three days "You can't spend your life in bed and you need to eat."

"Fuck off." I groaned "James, life isn't as easy for me as it is you."

"I know, and that's why I'm here, to help you shower and get out of bed." He beamed as I turned over to look at him.

"I haven't slept in two days, I don't want to be anywhere but bed, thanks." I sighed, looking at him with tired eyes, I could only imagine how bad my dark circles were.

"Awh, Tris." James sighed sympathetically, his smile faltering a little "...How long has it been since you took your medication?"

"Three weeks." I sighed "It does jack shit, I'm depressed when I'm on it, I'm depressed when I'm not. Placebo."

"Fuck." he whispered, peeling off his shirt and lifting the covers off my briefly before he climbed into bed, his warm skin pressing against my cool back, sending goosebumps through my spine and onto the back of my neck "Skin on Skin releases oxytocin, it's good for you." He explained quietly, his arm wrapping around my waist, coming to rest on my stomach.

"You're warm." I whispered quietly, closing my eyes to better feel the sensation of his chest rising and falling against my back "...Is Connor going to be okay with this?"

"Mhm." James hummed "Con won't mind."

"Even though I'm you're ex?" I asked, staring at the wall again now.

"Yep." James whispered, running his fingers over my skin "He knows you're my best mate, he also knows I'd do anything for you. And right now, you need this."

"...I do." I admitted quietly, I felt guilt form in my stomach as I admitted I needed love, knowing I wasn't worth anything but still having the nerve to admit I wanted it, pathetic.

"Go to sleep." James whispered "I'll be here as long as you need."

"...You don't have to be." I murmured, sleepless days and nights finally catching up with me "You can leave."

"Shhh." James hushed me "Sleep Tris, you need that too.".

Rather than replying I let the heaviness of my eyes to the talking as I closed them and almost instantly fell asleep with James pressed up against me, it felt nice, reminded me of a better time, a younger time, a time before I even knew how dark depression could go.

I woke up, I don't know how many hours later to the quiet murmur of people, James still half heartedly pressed against my back.

"Evening tris." Con smiled "Sleep well?"

I was confused for a second, but then figured James had invited him to keep himself company whilst I slept off days of worry.

"Yeah, thanks." I nodded quietly.

"Enjoy stealing my boyfriend for the day too?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Oh...Uh, I'm so sorry." I began quickly, Con shaking his head and smiling.

"It was a joke, Tris, it's cool, I don't mind." He assured me as James unwrapped his arms from around my body.

"We're going out to eat." James announced with a smile, climbing over me to get out of bed.

"I'm inviting my friend Brad." Con added "Tris, you're gonna love him,"

"It's a bit hard to feel love when I don't even feel hunger, Con." I pointed out.

"And you can tell, you're wasting away." He shook his head "Come on, get dressed, you don't even have to shower, we don't mind."

"I really don't want t-" I started but James shot me 'the look' which meant he'd carry me out of the house kicking and screaming If I didn't co-operate.

"ooh the looks come out." Con laughed "Thats bad news."

"Piss off." I grumbled, sitting up.

"We'll be downstairs." James smiled to me "Take as long as you need to get ready, remember, stand up slowly, you haven't got out of bed for a while."

"Mhm, thanks James." I nodded, turning my legs so my get rest against the floor as the couple left the room to give me privacy.

Once I was dressed and had managed to pull a brush through my hair I walked out of my room and down the stairs, being met with James and Con making out on my couch.

"Uh..." I started awkwardly, the two pulling away from each other "Can we go?"

"Yep." Con nodded, getting off of James' lap and quickly sorting out his hair before the couple lead me out of my house and into their car.

"Brad's meeting us there...With his boyfriend." Con smiled to me, turning to face me in the back seat.

"...Aren't you trying to set me up with him?" I questioned "How are you doing that if he has a boyfriend?"

"You're gonna show Brad what he's worth." Con smiled a little "His boyf is a dick."

"Please never say 'boyf' again." I shook my head "Are you sure you're not just being over-protective of your best mate?"

"Mhm." Con nodded "Something is dodgy between them, but Brad is adamant he's okay."

"Bit like you are."James piped up to me as he stopped at a red light.

"Fuck off." I rolled my eyes "I got help and stopped self medicating, didn't I?"

"You're still drinking and smoking." James pointed out "Don't even try and tell me that's not self medicating Evans."

"Whatever." I sighed "You don't get it."

"Umm, being your best friend, I kinda do." He interjected

"Umm, no, because you aren't going through it." I replied in the same tone "It's completely different."

"Mhm, sure." James rolled his eyes "we're not having this conversation, we're all going to have a lovely meal."

"Yeah, and I'll third wheel, as always." I rolled my eyes "wait- sixth wheel, great."

"Uhhh, tris." Con said quietly "Fifth."

"Fuck off." I snapped, suddenly pissed off and done with them both "Drop me off at McDonalds, I don't want to have this meal."

"You're coming with us." James shook his head "You're getting hangry. Just calm down until you've eaten something, and then tell Con to fuck off, Mmmkay?"
