This was it. This was the moment I changed my fate.

Ryan was at work, my phone was off, a bag filled with all the things I knew I needed was hidden under the bed. I sat on the edge of said bed, taking deep breaths as I prepared to run down the block and get into Tristan's car and take off. Get away from everything.

Once I had calmed my shaking down I grabbed my bag and took off, not bothering to lock the door, deciding it's better to just go and waste no time. I ran, oh god did I run as fast as I could until I saw the blond man in a blue car which I dived into, checking over my shoulder as I did so.

"You good?" He asked me, pulling away and driving off.

"...Yeah." I nodded quietly "Nervous."

"Don't Be. This will be the best decision of your life." He reassured me "Trust me Brad, everything is gonna be okay."

"I trust you." I nodded quietly "Thank you."

"Don't worry about it." He smiled softly "Nobody knows you're here, I've got you a new phone, just in case He was tracking your old one."

"Thank you." I nodded "Thats amazing."

"It's the least I could do for you Brad." He smiled, about ten minutes later pulling up outside his house. "Are you hungry? Would you like anything to eat when we get in?"

"Uh...No I'm okay." I flashed him a smile, picking up my bag and following him to the door wheee he let me in.

"Alright. Well, you can either sleep on the couch or in my room with me, there's an air bed there, which I'll have if you do sleep upstairs." Tris explained "In all honesty? It's safer for you to stay in a bedroom with someone over night, just in case or whatever."

"...um...I don't mind...If I could stay in a room with you, that'd be lovely." I whispered, looking down at the floor "...Just in case."

"That's not a problem at all." Tris reassured me "Would you like a drink?" He offered, leading me over to my cabinet of spirits He had collected.

"...Ryan's always said I'm not allowed to drink." I whispered quietly.

"And you're not with him anymore." Tris reminded quietly "You're free to do what you want. Have a victory drink with me, c'mon." He convinced, pulling one of the bottles of vodka away from the shelf and bringing it to the kitchen where he poured out a shot for the both of us "Cheers."

"Cheers." I repeated timidly, throwing the shot back, terrified, somehow convinced that Ryan would know what I'm doing "Thanks for everything Tris."

"Don't you worry about it." Tris smiled "Everything is gonna be okay Brad. I promise you."

"Alright." I nodded "...I-i Trust you."

"I'm so glad you do." Tris nodded "Another shot?"

"Um...I think I'll pass, thanks." I smiled "I haven't been drunk in a long time, and there's no saying what I'll do."

If I hadn't of been watching Tris so carefully I would've missed it. He flashed a smirk as I said the last part of the sentence before composing himself again, filling up both glasses again.

"You're safe with me here." He whispered, going to put his arm around my shoulder softly, I knew that his intention was golden, but months of conditioning told me otherwise.

"P-please don't hurt me." I yelped, flinching away from him, bringing my hands up to my face to protect myself before realising where I was, before looking at the saddened expression on Tris' face.

"I would never hurt you, Alright." He whispered "I know it's hard to change the way you think, I know it is. But I promise, you're safe here."
