I find Teddy when I get to the big dome where the meeting is held. I told her how I talked to Tris, and she thanked me.
This meeting is probably going to be nothing like an actual meeting.
We are told to sit on the floor, criss-cross, this is just great isn't it?
I sit next to Teddy and Peter is sitting next to Teddy. I give him a smile. I then look to the other side of me.
Four, is sitting next to me, and he is sitting next to Tris also. They hold hands. But can I take a moment to say how cute their relationship is?
But did he do this on purpose? Why would he sit here? I'm glad he did though.
I feel his eyes on me but all I do is look straight ahead. He eventually stops looking at me and focuses more on Tris.
We wait for everyone else to get inside, Amity is a big faction, bigger than Candor at least, so having us all sit like this is hot and uncomfortable.
Rebecca sits in front of me, and I'm happy I am with family again. It's weird to see her though, since I have not seen her for months, and that's crazy to think.
"Hello everyone," says Johanna. "We are gathered here today with some news. You all know a war happened between Erudite and Abnegation. You may not know the full story though. The Erudite used the Dauntless to make an army, by using some type of liquid. The Dauntless had no control over what they were doing, but some of the remaining Dauntless are here to ask if they can stay here, for safety."
Wow, they didn't joke about saying the Amity is bubbly.
"Everyone except the Dauntless members come here and get in a line in front of me and say your feedback on this event."
Yippee! More sitting and awkwardness!
The line takes forever because like I said, each Amity is super bubbly and probably had a paragraph to say to Johanna.
After everyone is done, Johanna starts speaking again. This is the moment of truth. Are we gonna stay?
"Thank you for all of your feedback. We have a clear answer. Dauntless, you may stay here under a set of rules. The first rule is be nice to others, and fights are not allowed. The second rule is no weapons, in Amity we are peaceful, so we do not tolerate weapons. And the last rule is you have to where Amity clothes, just in case anything happens."
We all nod, to be respectful, but in our minds we are having a party. I can't believe they let the least peaceful faction stay with the peaceful faction. All I can think is wow.
They show us which rooms is ours. My room is next to Teddy's and Four's, since all they did was go down the order we were sitting in for the meeting. Now I really have to settle things with Four, since we are basically neighbors.
The rooms aren't too big, but not too small, just right. It was like the size of my Erudite room I had awhile ago. We find Amity clothes already in the drawers, and I quickly get changed. I choose a yellow and red dress, and I realize how much I forgot wearing dresses in Candor.
I then hear a knock at the door, which I expected. I open it to see Four, looking sad.
"Can I come in?" He asks, thinking that I'll say no.
"Sure."
He walks in. It is weird seeing him wear a yellow shirt and red pants. I bet it looks different to him seeing me in a dress also. He looks a lot kinder I guess you could say. But like I said in the beginning, I don't know if I can look at him the same way. I close the door and back up.
"How is your face?" He asks.
Wow, great start Four.
"I've dealt with worse. I'm fine."
He sighs. "Cat, I know you are lying. Tell me the truth."
"Why? Cause I'm Candor?" I say, raising my voice a little.
"No, because if you tell the truth, it becomes a part of your past. If you lie, it becomes a part of your future."
I sigh. "I'm not afraid of you Four, because I know you are thinking that. I could never be. I am a little shakin up, to tell the truth." A tear goes down my cheek. "It's all my fault Four."
"No it isn't. I am the one the punched you."
"I know you did, but I started the fight, I almost jumped off the train, I broke down, I almost killed Teddy, I am the reason Jessica is dead. If I just held her back.....
"Cat, you can't blame yourself for that. How would you know what was gonna happen?" he says walking closer to me. I don't move.
"I wish I did."
"Don't do anything you are going to regret."
I look at him, and he knows that I know what happened to Al. I would never do that, but why should he know better?
"Listen Cat, I know you are smart, I mean you were the only person in Erudite that finished that one test Jeanine gave you," he continues.
I glare at him. "How do you know that?"
"I know a lot of things."
"That's the past. I don't care about that stupid test. I don't care about Erudite either. That faction killed my friend, Tris's parents, and many more. If they kill anyone else I know, I don't know what I will do. I won't do what Al did, cause he was a coward, and I'm not. I'm ready to fight if they ever come here."
He presses his lips together. "I'm sorry about Jessica. I miss her too. I know you knew her a lot more than I did, but I cared about her. I care about everyone, even if they are evil."
This is the first time Four has opened up to me, and the first time I have seen him shed a tear. Tears are rolling down both of our faces.
"If I ever lost Tris.......I........"
He doesn't need to finish his sentence, since losing her would be like losing his own life.
We wrap ours arms around each other, and stay there, for what seems like forever.
