Cliche: An entire boyband adopts a child... usually a teenager a few years younger than they are.
Example:
Harry smiled down at me, his brown eyes sparkling with happiness. "Well, Kelly, you ready to live with One Direction?"I nodded, too excited to speak.
"Wait a minute," said Niall. "Won't having a 16 year old girl hanging around us stir up controversy, as well as interfering with our touring schedule?"
"Shut up, Niall." Harry snapped. "No one cares."
Why it's a cliche:
NO. BAND. WOULD. DO. THIS.Like Niall said, it would interfer with touring and recording to have a snot-nosed, bratty kid hanging around. And if the kid in question is 16 or something, you can bet the press would start kicking up a huge controversial fuss.
Also, what sort of band feels the urge or the need to adopt a kid? Like... WHAT?!
If it's for PR reasons, then that's very extreme. If it's just for the hell of it... then... I don't know anymore. Just avoid this plot.
In My Own Words:
Now, I haven't written a fic like this before (thank goodness)...... however...
When I was very young, probably nine or ten, I was very interested in drawing and making comics like my artistic heroes: Jim Davis, Bill Watterson, and Charles Schultz.
But being a youngun, I didn't really have any original ideas for comics or stories, so I made a full series of comic books about my life with The Beatles. And when I say a 'full series', I mean a full series: each comic was about the size of a textbook and there were ten adventures in total.
My character was called Tracy, a young ten-year-old orphaned girl, who ended up being adopted by The Beatles and going to live with them in their huge shared house (and their maid Mildred). We had a lot of adventures together... although the timeline of events was all wonky, and my drawing was horrendous back then.
I cringe to think about those comics now, but it seemed like so much fun to be adopted by my idols.
But what REALLY bugs me about those comics was the fact that I never gave The Beatles a reason to adopt a child. All I remember is John suggesting it and the other three agreeing with him.
*sighs*
I say again, avoid this cliche, unrealistic plot like the plague.
