Chapter 10

9th of November 2023

2:30pm

I can’t believe it’s my birthday today, turning 18 is kinda scary and it’s the last day of school. Since we are getting ready to go into study leave, to be honest I don’t really want to go into study leave, having no more school and becoming more bored really easily. But at least next year I can get married and go and do my dancing, that I want to do, I’m also hoping Link can come with me at least there’s basketball there.

“Happy Birthday, Chloe” said Sarah

When I went out to the dining room, all I could smell was pancakes.

“Thanks” I said back to her

“Where’s dad?” I said a few minutes later

“Cooking you breakfast.”

“Mmmm, pancakes in the morning”

“Where’s Link?” Sarah said to me

“He said he will be up in a minute”

I decided to go and see dad

“How’s the pancakes going dad?”

“Okay I guess”

“Ah huh, are you following mum’s recipe?”

“I forgot she wrote that one out, ta love and by the way happy birthday”

“Thanks dad”

I headed back into the dining room, and Link was standing there waiting for me.

“Close your eyes and give me your hand.” He said to me

So I closed my eyes and gave Link my hand. I could tell we were walking down the hallway and back to my room.

“This is only some of your presents from me, open your eyes.”

I opened my eyes, there were two ladies standing there. My room got turned into a hair and make-up room and there were bags of clothing on my bed.

“Is this all for me?” I said looking at Link

“It sure is I want your day to be special.”

“Thank you, hun this means a lot to me.”

I kissed him and he left. I got my hair and make-up done, my hair was all loose and curly, and my make-up was amazing, then we sorted out my clothes. I decided to wear boot leg jeans, black boots, a green singlet top and a black vest. I then walked out to the dining room, once I was done

“So what do you think?” I said as I stood in the doorway

“You look amazing” sad Link smiling at me

“Here’s your birthday present” said dad

He handed me a small box, inside were keys to a car

“But dad, I already have a car.”

“Not a new one, you don’t”

So we all went outside, and I saw my brand new car with a pink bow on top.

“No, way, thanks dad.”

“Well, your mum choose it ages ago for you, and we have hidden it ever since.”

My car was a black Ford Falcon XR8 with pink flames and a number plate saying Fabulous.

“We better head to school, babe.” Said Link

“Yeah, Miley is gonna hate me, when she sees me in this.” I said

Link and I headed away in my brand new car, and drove off to school. As we pulled up to school, a crowd came around to where I parked the car.

“Is this your’s Chloe?” said Miley  

“It sure is I got it from dad.”

“And I love the hair, make-up and clothes.”

“Thanks, they were from my husband, that’s right people, I’m engaged to the most caring guy ever”

People we shocked to what I said, but I didn’t really care so Link, Miley and I all walked away, arm in arm and gave each other high fives and laughing.
