Chapter 7

4:00pm

Today is the day of mum's funeral, I've managed to write a speech for mum, practice my song and help Miley with her song. So I'm in the car with Link he's driving me there, once we were there, there was a lot of cars outside where mum was, Miley was outside waiting for me.

"Everyone is all waiting for you guys, so let’s walk in shall we?"

I just held onto Link's hand. Dad and Drake were in front of me, Miley and Sarah were behind me and Link. I felt sick to my stomach knowing that I'd have to sing and do a speech in front of these people who knew mum.

"We gathered here today to farewell a wife, a mother, a friend, a sister and a work mate. Rose Isobel Watson, we will remember her by her smiles, her spirit and her kindness towards other people. Paul, Drake, Chloe and Sarah, we all know how much Rose meant to all of you, we are here if you here a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk to. Now we have Rose's oldest daughter Chloe, is gonna come up and say a few words and sing one of Rose's favourite songs that Chloe will sing."

I took a deep breath and tried not to cry.

"Hello, I'm Chloe and I'm the oldest girl. My mum was the most amazing mum, I've ever had. If I had any problems, I could always go up to her for advice, a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk to. Mum taught me how to decorate and bake cakes, she taught me how to cook dinner, she even taught me how to sing and dance. If I have a problem with my homework, she would help me out with it. We did have a few ups and downs, but in the end we would say sorry to each other and sort out our problems together. When I was little I used to find mum in the dance studio, dancing then she would see me, and then she would teach me the dance she just did. I love Friday's, it was mum's idea it would be fish 'n' chips or movie night, but it’s normally both so all of us would be on the couch under blankets cuddling each other. Then one day mum finds out she was pregnant, and that's when I find out I was going to be a big sister to Sarah. Also Sarah whatever mum taught me, I'll teach you and also just remember mum will always be in your heart and she loves you as much as she loves me, dad and Drake. Now I'm gonna sing one of mum's favourite song to sing to her 'Only Hope'."
