Chapter 6

12:30pm

 When I woke up, I was in hospital; drips were in my arm and I had an oxygen mask around my face. No one was in here with me, then I looked to my right and I realised Link was in a chair asleep, so I just laid there trying to but for some reason, it was hard for me to think at all. I started to develop a headache, then beside me there was a cord it must have been a buzzer so I decided to ring it. Suddenly a nurse came in.

"What's wrong Chloe?" said the nurse when she arrived

"I got a headache." I said

As I was saying this I realised I was whezzie and couldn't breathe properly

"You are allergic to penicillin aren’t you?"

I just nodded my head and then the nurse left. While she was away Link woke up.

"Hey beautiful." he said

And I did a little wave to him, and then he came over and kissed my forehead.

"You okay?" he said

I just shocked my head; he started to get a worried look on his face.

"Have you ringed the buzzer for a nurse?"

I just nodded my head, then he had a calm look on his face, which made me happy then the next thing I knew the nurse came in with a cup of water and two pills.

"Oh, hello Link here Chloe take this it will help with your headache."

I took the pills and took them down with a big mouth fill of water.

"When can I have the mask off?" I said quietly

"I'll let the doctor know you are awake and he will be the one to judge whether you can have the oxygen mask off or not."

"Thank you." I said

Then the nurse left.

"Babe, you shouldn't be like this." said Link

He started to get tears in his eyes; I put my hand out to him and stroked his face. I took the oxygen mask off again.

"It happens, it hasn't been this bad in a while, but I'm going to be okay trust me." I said in a whisper

"You sure about this"

"I'm sure babe, trust me okay."

"Okay."

"I love you." I said

"I love you, too." said Link

He came up to me, and kissed me, he then held onto my hand, I began to cry.

"It's okay, babe do you want me to get dad?"

I just nodded and pointed to my phone, Link found dad's number and rang him.

"Hi Paul, its Link here Chloe is awake would you, like to come and see her?"

"Just text when you're outside and I'll bring you up."

Then Link hanged up from my phone.

"Your dad said he will be here in half an hour."

I just nodded to what Link said to me, I then started to feel bored

"Babe" I said to Link just above a whisper

"Mmmm" Link replied back to me

"I'm bored."

"Want to play cards."

I just nodded; we played cards until Link got a text from dad.

"He's here, will you be okay, while I'll go and get your dad?"

I just nodded, Link kissed my forehead and left. I decided to play cards by myself, while Link came back with Dad and Drake. I felt better when I saw them.

"The nurse said she will go and get the doctor, to see if Chloe is allowed the oxygen mask off." said Link explaining to dad and Drake.

"You okay love?" said dad

I just nodded, dad came over and gave me a hug and a kiss on my forehead, and then Drake came over and gave me a hug. Next thing I knew the doctor was in.

 "Hello, Chloe how are you feeling?"

"My headache is gone, but it's just my breathing that's all."

"Mmm, I could hear that I'm going to listen to your breathing if that's okay"

I just nodded my head; the doctor got out his stethoscope and placed it onto my chest.

"Breathe in for me, and out slowly."

I did as I was told each time he put the stethoscope in a different place on me.

"Your breathing is still not normal, I'm going to get a different inhaler for you to try, and I won’t be long."

After that the doctor left.

"So you heard anything from Mrs Brown, dad?" I said quietly

"I did, Adam's parents are very shocked to what he, said and that he will say sorry to you when you get back to school."

"Wow, but I don't think he will be sorry, at all I know what he is like”

"You never know."

"Mmm, so when are we having mum's funeral?"

"Thursday, this Thursday."

"Well at least, I got today and tomorrow to write a speech and practice a song."

"You don't have to love."

"I want to dad, I want to say goodbye properly to mum."

We all went silent, a few minutes later the doctor came back with a purple inhaler.

"This inhaler is two inhalers in one, it has your orange that you have at home, and a green inhaler all in one now, just take one puff and see if you can feel the difference in your breathing."

So I took the inhaler from the doctor and took one puff, and I felt better.

"Wow, it's made a difference." I said

"Good, now take it when you feel whezzie, you can take up to four puffs at one time."

"Okay." I said

"So you are all clear to leave."

The doctor hanged me a prescription, and we left the hospital but the only thing is no one brought me any clothes over to change into, so I had to walk out ti the car with Link holding onto my hand, and to have dad and Drake on the other side of me, in my pjs.
