~Pein~

The other Akatsuki stood before him. Zetsu had just recently come up, and had a scowl upon his face. "Leader-sama," the white Zetsu began. "We have five minutes until dawn."

"Fool, we have ten minutes. Do not give false information, it'll foil the plan." growled the black Zetsu.

Deidara sighed, "Why do we have to do this, un? Why can't we just---?"

"Do not complain," Pein interrupted. It was too late to change the plan, they might as well go on with it. "It's best if you didn't do that, Deidara. It saves more time."

Sasori cocked an eyebrow slightly at Konan when she arrived. The Dance of the Shikigami was the move she's known to use. Pein wondered why Sasori raised an eyebrow at her . . . until he realized that Konan was standing close to him. Very close. It made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. "Leader-sama, because we have eight minutes left until we have to reveal our answer to Danzo, should we say our farewells?"

"Puppet, we're not going to die, if we freaking were. Then we freaking wouldn't be doing this right now." Hidan scowled at Sasori. "Besides, they can't kill me. I'm an immortal."

"Of course you are," Kakuzu rolled his eyes at his partner. "An immortal that never learns manners and wisdom. You'll be stuck like this disrespectful idiot for all of eternity. Whoopie."

Konan stepped away from Pein to examine the horizon. She sighed and turned to Kisame, they talked in low voices. Pein considerably took one last look at the Akatsuki before Danzo and possibly half of the ANBU. "Do not forget we are not giving up, the Akatsuki is still here to bring peace to the world. And show the true meaning of pain."

They all looked at him with curious eyes. They understood what he was talking about, however they looked at him---except Hidan, of course---with one last approving nod. The plan was now all he could think about, and being able to continue what Yahiko wanted. The pain that he had suffered.

Pein then remembered about him and Konan. He felt himself feel guilt, he forgot about Konan being Yahiko's. He, as Nagato, promised he wouldn't interfere with the two's love life. But was it too late to keep that promise?

"Leader-sama?"

"Yes?" Pein turned to Itachi, relievingly snapping out of the thought.

"I see Danzo and the ANBU Black Ops." Itachi replied, his eyes twitched slightly. Possibly because of his Sharingan, which hadn't been resting for a while now. "Should we start now?"

Pein shook his head, "No. Not just yet. But get prepared." He looked behind himself to see his other five paths, they looked at him with the same blank look. He blinked at them, then turned when Danzo was in front of him. "We are here."

"Have you made your choice?" Danzo asked the Akatsuki. "Have you made the choice that will either kill you or let you live?"

"Yes." Pein replied, taking a quick glimpse at Konan; who watched him with her calm expression. Behind her, Tobi was staring at Danzo with a steady gaze. He wasn't nervous or absent mindedly chatting away, he was silent. Pein turned back his gaze to Danzo. "We have made our choice."

"And what is that?"

"We choose . . . that we will never surrender to those who don't understand peace and pain. You will not kill us, for it is merely impossible." Pein lifted his head up and glared down at Danzo. "Shinra tensei."
