~Pein~

"Konan, did you say you saw Jiraiya-sensei?" Pein asked, scanning the land below him. He hadn't seen any signs of their old perverted teacher. "Because, if you did, I don't see him. Tsunade had said he was still in a coma."

Konan sighed, "I saw him, Pein, while we were talking to---"

"Miss me already, students?" Pein turned to see Jiraiya. The man stood, arms crossed, and his Sage Mode turned on. "Konan, Pein, how have both of you been? I heard you two took a fancy to each other."

"You old fool!" Tsunade yelled from fifteen feet away. "This isn't another one of your stories!"

Jiraiya chuckled, "Tsunade, I see you're trapped. Don't worry I'll get you out again, same with you, Asuma. But I need to take care of something."

Konan stood by Pein, he knew she was tensed. He remembered the last time he saw his teacher, they were in the Amegakure. Pein's first Animal Path had been killed by Jiariya, however it was fortunate for Pein to find a replacement. Jiraiya knew Pein's secret, who he actually is. Though it's undetermined why Jiraiya would still call him by Pein.

"Pein," Konan whispered. "Hidan and Kakuzu are trapped at the valley with Asuma's students."

"Of course," Pein hissed angrily. He knew Hidan and Kakuzu would be able to fight them off. "Jiraiya-sensei, you have words to tell us?"

Jiraiya turned back to them, a smile on his face. "I see that you have taught Danzo a valubale lesson. About the past being the past and the past making the present and so on. You all learned a lot from me, I'm proud, to be honest. Still upset that you nearly killed me, and have caused a large commotion throughout the land."

"We tried canceling all the wars with our peace, although not everyone agrees." Pein answered. "Yahiko followed your dream, but he risked his life for Konan."

"I apologize," Jiraiya responded. "Although, you need to know your peace isn't doing any good. It is just building up more problems."

Pein sighed, "That is what all of you think. But you must know the true meaning of pain in order to know that this peace that I set off is reasonable, true, and dignifying. If you don't understand that after failing to retrieve Orochimaru from the bad side, I cannot help you."

"If you think it like that . . ." Jiraiya studied Pein carefully. "Then why not teach me something for a change, Pein? I thought you had grown up to be mature, and protecting the ones you love---"

"I'm protecting Konan and the Akatsuki, they're all I need to protect." Pein replied. "If you care to join to be one of those people, then give us the remaining Jinchuriki and call off the Anbu and other shinobi."

"Don't do it, Jiraiya!" Tsunade yelled, squirming."

"Silence." Konan told Tsunade, calmly. Tsnuade kept on squirming, the Naraka Path chuckled, Asuma froze and stared wide eyed at the Nakara Path. "Jiriaya-sensei, are you telling the truth?"

Jiraiya chortled, his laugh sounding low. "If I wasn't, then why would I be agreeing with you for once?"

"What is that supposed to mean?" Pein demanded, he prepared his metal rod just in case if his old teacher was about to pull a move on them. "Agreeing with us for once?"

The man sighed, and glanced back at his friends, then glanced back at Konan and Pein. "What I mean to say is," the man put a hand on his chin. "That I'm going to ask Tsnuade to call off the Anbu and shinobi . . . Also, giving you the two remaining Jinchuriki."

Pein cocked his head slightly to the left. "Is that all?"

"No . . . but I will do this all on one condition." Jiraiya replied, looking directly at Pein.

"Jiraiya, you fool! What're you thinking?! Why are you agreeing with them! It's no use! They'll destroy all of us!" Tsnuade yelled, the Nakara Path let the King of Hell enlarge her tongue and pull it out. Asuma seemed to have clamped his mouth shut, terrified and clever enough not to say anything.

Jiraiya sucked in a breath, "I'm doing this for everyone." And the old man glanced sadly back at his old friend, and told her, "If I don't survive this, Tsnuade, tell Naruto . . . based on his high hopes. He'll be the next Hokage for sure. Just like his father."
