Author's Note: I know it is a short chapter but it's better than a longer wait, right? I'll update soon, possibly Thursday.

I could hear the hum of the audience buzz through my ears. I recoiled my rope and tightened it, getting ready to head into the box. Tie-Down roping, one of the trickiest rodeo sports and Timber kicks butt at it. We were in the hole and, I could see the faint dust particles in the air as I was waiting.

Timber was ready. I could feel her muscles tense up and shake with excitement. They called my name and Timber and I walked to the gate to enter the arena. Timber tried to leap to a run but I held her back and she finally settled down enough for me to loop my rope a couple of times and put it in my mouth. I then backed her into the box.

I could feel her ready beneath me, and I nodded my head, to signal the go-ahead, my eyes on the calf. The calf shot out with the speed of lightning and Timber was right on his tail. I quickly got the rope around the horns and Timber stopped just as I was dismounting. I ran to the calf and hurriedly tied the knot clean. I threw my hands up in the air, to signal that I finished.

"Amber Jennings finishes with a 6.7 the third fastest time of the night." the rodeo announcer said. I smiled, knowing that we did well. I could hear Jordan screaming in the background. That girl is always yelling, I swear. I turned around and grabbed Timber, what I didn't expect was to make eye-to-eye contact with the last person that I wanted to see. And that wasn't all, he was smiling his sick smile at me.

Hunter Johnson.
