I am in some deep shit.

"Hey Sarah," I said my brain was screaming at me to shut up and explain myself. Sarah glowered at me, and I knew what I was getting. A huge long-ass lecture for not telling her that I was in town. I heard snickers, and I looked at Jordan to see her finding the current situation that I am in, amusing. I glared at her.

"Don't you 'Hey Sarah' me young lady!" Sarah said," Why didn't you tell me you were in town?" I glanced at us and noticed that a lot of people were staring. I heard Sarah clear her throat, and my eyes shot up to her. I took in her features and noticed that she had a few more gray hairs since the last I saw her.

"Because we just got here," I said. Sarah sighed, and she pulled me up to her and hugged me, and I reciprocated the gesture. That's when I noticed Brooklyn behind her. The girl sure had grown up, and the next thing I knew she threw her arms around me after Sarah let go. I squeezed her back, and I'll admit that I almost cried after hugging her and Sarah.

"It's been two years Ams," I heard Brooklyn whisper. Brooke didn't like to talk to many people, and I remember the day I left and how heartbroken she was. She was like a little sister to me. Brooke was 15 years old, with caramel hair and light blue eyes. She was to my shoulder in height now.

"I know Brookie, and I'm so sorry," I whisper back. We let go of each other, and we invite them to sit with us while we finished eating. I look around at us and notice people staring, people that didn't grow up here and probably are just passing through. I glared at them, "What are you looking at?" I threatened. People just needed to mind their own business. Besides, the show was over.

We finished eating, and Sarah offered to let us come to her house. Her house. This home has more beautiful and happy memories than my own. We were following Sarah and Brooke and Jordan knew that I didn't want to talk. I don't even know how Sarah knew that I was in town. I mean, we were only in the city limits for 20 minutes.

We pulled down the driveway, and all of the memories flew in one after the other. They all varied from playing family football games in their massive backyard to all of us racing on horses in the nearby woods.

I took in the grand windows in the front and center of the home and the rustic look of the house. This home where most of my good childhood memories are from. We parked, and I unloaded the horses, part of it was to see if this place had changed much and the other part was to help me figure out why I wanted to come home. I walked past one of the barns with Timber in one hand and Cora in the other.

I let them loose in one of the only empty fields. They went to bucking, and I could tell that they were so thankful to get out of that trailer. I walked into the 'Old Barn' and smiled. This place was where Monte and Sarah Tesch started from square one. I touched the weathered down stall doors and smiled. I could feel wet streaks down my face and wiped them.

Inside the small tack room, we made a little horse memorial, and I saw my very first horse that has taught me everything I know. Shadow was the best, and I don't know where I would've been without him.

We had our small barn and riding arena with few other acres of land at my actual home but this where most of my memories were created with Shadow. I smiled and turned around and jumped.

"Hey Ams," a deep voice said. There was only voice that that could be. Matthew Tesch.

"Matt!" I said, loudly. I ran up to him and hugged him. Matt chuckled and hugged me back, tightly.

"On a scale of 1 to 10 how much did you miss me?" he said.

I smirked and looked at him and said, " Can negative numbers count too?" Matt scowled playfully and tickled me. I laughed and wiggled trying to get him to stop, and finally, he relented.

"Come on Ams. We want to talk with you." I nodded my head and followed him inside. As we went inside, I was led right into Monte's office. I smiled at the memories of us kids coloring on walls and playing pranks on him. Our childhood laughter echoed back to me; it was almost haunting. Matt closed the doors and Monte and Sarah were on the opposite side of the desk.

Monte hugged me, but then made me sit down. The one thing about Monte is that he'll always get straight to the point. "Why are you home Amber? You never told us that you were coming to visit," he said. Oh, boy was he right.

I sighed and looked at the both of them, "I thought that it was time to visit Mama." They both gave me shocked faces.

"Amber..." Sarah whispered. I looked at her.

"I need to Sarah. I think that it's about time that I should."

A/N: What do think Amber means by that? Any guesses? Comment what you think. I can't believe that I have a little over 300 reads on this book. It's amazing. Thank you to all who have voted and I hope you guys enjoyed.

Until next time!
