I grabbed my robe and wrapped it around my insanely cold body. I got dressed into my PJ's and grabbed alcohol and a rag. I walked into Ash's room.
"Hey, do you mind if I clean you up?"
"No, not at all." He said, smiling.
Isat behind him on his bed and put some alcohol on the rag. I slowly tapped his back as he winced.
"I'm sorry."
"It's alright Kat."
I then started on his face. I tapped it and looked into his eyes as he winced. I smiled at him and softly laid my hands on his face kissing him.
I skipped away to the guest bedroom, closed the door, and collapsed on the bed.
I wonder what he is thinking.
I fell asleep without even attempting to put my hair up.
The next morning I went downstairs to Ash making coffee for the both of us. He turned around and almost spilled coffee all over himself.
"Cra- good morning, how did you sleep?"
"Good." I chuckled.
"Oh." he said, glaring.
"What you making?" I said cutely.
"Coffee, I thought you could use it."
"Thank you, mmm, it smells delicious."
"Well, thank you my lady." he said and bowed.
"I am going to brush my teeth."
"Alright." he said laughing, then turned back to the counter to finish pouring his coffee.
What's so funny?
I went upstairs to the restroom when my cell phone rang.
"My phone says that the number is unknown." I yelled down the stairs.
I answered the phone and as soon as I heard the woman's voice, I dropped my phone.
"It's my mom!"
I grabbed the phone up from the ground and heard her voice, so delicate.
"Hello, Kat? Is that you?"
"Yes mother, and I am not coming home."
"That's not why I called you. Sweetie, your father had a heart attack." She said, her voice shaking.
I could hear her crying over the phone, and that was when it hit me.
"No."
"Honey, he wants to see you. He is at the hospital on Windrixon."
"Al-alright," I said trying not to cry. "I will go right away."
I hung up the phone and got dressed into proper clothes as fast as I could.
"I'm so sorry, Kat." Ash said, standing in the doorway.
"Don't be, it is my fault."
"What do you mean?"
"He loves me so much, and when my mother told him that I ran away, I assume he could not take it; I was the one who caused his heart attack."
"I'm sure that is not true, Kat."
"I have to go, Ash."
"I will go with you."
"No, this is my fault."
"Kat."
"Alright."
He drove me to the hospital and rushed me inside. We tried to walk inside, but a nurse stopped us.
