Helping a pained Jigen out of the window had proved more difficult than you originally imagined it to be, but you'd eventually managed to get him out with minimal injuries. You'd ended up almost dropping him as he'd nearly fallen in the process.

"Give me your hat" you said.

You couldn't see his eyes, but you knew they were giving you a disapproving look.

"Over my dead body" he replied stubbornly.

"Jigen, just give me the damn thing, I'll give it back, I promise."

He reluctantly took off his prized possession and handed it to you.
"I don't care how much I love you, loose this, and you're dead. Got it?"

You wanted to believe that he was joking, but you couldn't help but think that he probably would kill anyone, let alone you, who lost his hat.

You gave him an understanding look before climbing up the side of the house, hat on head.

"Where the hell are you going?" Jigen cried.

"I'm going to get the car!"

He watched as you disappeared up onto the roof.

"Stay safe, love" he murmured.

You'd reached the front of the house. Peering over the edge, you saw Lupin bargaining with the inspector on the doorstep below. Zenigata wasn't having any of it. Numerous curse words were laced within every sentance Zenigata spoke. Not that you weren't used to it, but it never sounded this bad before. He wasn't just out to get you all in cuffs by the sounds of it, he was out for blood.

You took Jigen's hat off of your head, gave it a quick kiss, and threw it off of the edge of the roof to the right like a frisbee. At the same time, you fired your gun in that general direction.

Sure enough it caught the inspectors attention and sent him and the police men running towards it to investigate.

You jumped off the roof of the little bungalow type safe house with ease, grabbing Lupin by the arm and practically dragging him into the car with you.

Starting the car as fast as you could (Lupin nearly always left the keys in. It was a bad habit of his, although, he liked to call it 'thinking ahead', and you'd probably never hear the end of it after this) you spin it around and headed straight towards Zenigata.

"How the hell did you manage to pry that hat off of Jigen's head?" Questioned Lupin.

"I love how that's your main concern" you laughed, winding down the window as you approached Zenigata who was inspecting the hat.

Plucking it straight out of Zenigata's hand, you got back Jigen's hat, just as you promised. Now all you needed was to give it back to the man himself and get him in the car.

Racing towards the back of the house, you pulled up next to a rather startled looking Jigen and told him to get in.

With a bit of pain, he managed it and all three of you took off towards the main road.

"And the hat?"

Taking the hat out of your lap, you put it on your own head and smirked into the rear view mirror so Jigen could see you.

"Let's just hope you don't need to shoot anyone until we get out of the car." You said.

Jigen smiled back. "It kinda suits you."
