Alex POV;
Chicago. The wonderful skylines, the air, the cold winters, oh how I've missed this.

I wake up in my tiny box apartment in my bed, well it wasn't really a bed, a mattress lying in the middle of a room. I didn't have time to decorate yet, let alone the money to decorate. I've just paid off my medical loans last week, oh how much they cost.

I get up of my mattress, and walk slowly to the bathroom, it's all white no colour, I'll have to fix it up soon, I think I would kill myself if I had to live with this colour everyday. Anyway, I put on wash my face and put on some moisturiser, I usually don't wear makeup, but first day, I want to make a good impression, I only put on some foundation and put everything away. I go to my closet, with hardly any clothes in it, and pick just some casual clothes, as when I get to the hospital I will have my scrubs anyway.

I grab a granola bar and walk out of my apartment building and start walking to the Hospital. My apartment is only 7 minutes away, so I can just walk. I walk on the path with my bag, and eating my granola bar, until a shady looking person walks beside me, but I ignore them, until they push me into an alleyway and says "Give me your purse", haha, Alex Williams doesn't not simply give someone her purse, "Ehhh, how bout no?" I say laughing and walking out of the alleyway, back to the footpath, until I feel a pain in the left of my abdomen and drop my bag, "Fuck you! You son of a fucker! You mother asshole fucking ass!" I scream as I feel the pain, the motherfucker stabbed me. Oh hell. And he took my bag with my supplies. I sit down in the alleyway, and rip of the arm of my shirt and hold it to my stab wound, I think it pierced my liver, if it did I need surgery now.

I'm 2 minutes from the hospital so there is no point in calling 911, I walk as fast as I can, trying not to limp because I don't civilians know what happened, I don't want anyone to be alarmed.

I walk into the E.D and show the women at the desk my women and she signals me to go ahead in. I rush in as fast as I can and I hear a women look at me, signal me to sit on a bed and shout, "Dr. Rhodes, Trauma 2, Stab wound, to the left abdomen, REESE!" Then two doctors enter, a young student doctor, oh, how I remember those days, and a handsome, breathtaking guy, I read his scrubs and it says, 'Trauma Surgery', ooooh, Trauma, wow. "Hello, I'm Doctor Rhodes, and this is Doctor Reese, we are here to take a look at your injury, may I?" He says looking at my t-shirt stained with blood, "Of course Doctor, but I'd call the O.R, pierced my liver, bleeding internally, so I'll give it," and I look at my watch and look back but at him starting to be a bit more light headed, "2 minutes till I lose consciousness" then my eyes start to close, and I hear him shout to the head nurse I think and he says "Call O.R, we have a pierced liver, bleeding internally" he actually listened to me, then I lose consciousness.

I wake up in a different room than before, it's more of a recovery room, I look around and see Dr. Rhodes sitting in the seat beside me sleeping, how long was I out for? Well it depends how bad it was, maybe I didn't need surgery, it probably didn't even hit the liver, Jesus. I just stare out the window, did I misdiagnose myself? God, the doctor will kill me.

"Hey" I turn round and see Dr. Rhodes smiling at me. "Hey Dr. Rhodes" I say with a cute smile on. "Oh, call me Connor, and what shall I call you?" He says to me, oh he's such s gentleman. "Alex" I say back. "Well Alex, you were demonstrating signs of Hemodynamic instability, which mean" I interrupt him saying "Yeah, I how what it is, so what did you do?" He started again, "Well usually a hepatopancreatobilary surgeon deals with that, but they were busy, so I had to use the Pringle manoeuvre to stop the bleeding to give me time to repair the vessel, I repaired it, but I want you to stay in for 7 days so I can keep an eye on your progress". Then I sigh, I just got here, now I've had a fucking liver surgery, and can't work... wait a minute, I can work, I'm still in the hospital, and if anything goes wrong sure I'm a doctor and I'll have loads of doctors around me. "Okay, how long was I out for?" I ask him. "3 hours" He says back with a sympathetic smile. "Okay, well, it's my first day on the job and I missed it, can you notify my boss?" I say to him. "Sure" He replies smiling, "Do you have a number?" Then I have the biggest smile, "You won't need a number" I tell him, "her office is in here". "Wait.... your a doctor?" He asks me with a confused face "Dr Williams, the new Emergency Medicine Dr, formerly Head of Trauma". "Oh! Hahah I wondered how your knew everything, well, Dr. you'll be off work for at least a month, at least you can get used to your surroundings" He says to me " And it was lovely meeting you, not under the circumstances though, I'll also be back later to check on you, Dr. Reese should be in soon to give you your NSAIDs and opioids, I suggest you get some rest" then he leaves, wow, he is handsome and a good Doctor.
