Cole and Larry pushed us into an alley. Where no one could hear us. I moved towards Kendall. He put his bounded arms in front of me, protectively. 

"You're Vivian Donaldson. I've heard you're one of the most powerful fairies out there." Larry sneered. He pushed his dark brown hair behind his ear.

"That makes you Kendall Sparks. The half-vampire who refuses to become full." Cole nudged Kendall.

"You two are the most notorious creatures in the supernatural world." Larry grinned as us. "Think how powerful we'll become when people find out we have you."

"Let us go." Kendall growled. They laughed at him, clearly not afraid. I stared at them. I pictured the alley flooded with darkness. Cole and Larry whipped around, searching for light. Kendall and I untied ourselves and hurried out of the alley. We drove home in Kendall's car.

Vincent and my mom were outside when we got there. They had their arms around each other. They've been dating for 5 months, as of December. I smiled, realizing that made 8 months for Kendall and me. Then slight anger filled me.

"Vincent, can I talk to you?" I asked.

"Sure, brown eyes." He responded, not moving.

"Alone." I clarified. He nodded and followed me behind the house. 

"What's up, brown eyes?" He smiled at me.

"How's Kingsley?" The smile left his face. He instantly had guilt in his eyes. 

"Brown eyes, please. Not here." He pleaded.

"It's been 5 months and you still haven't decided." I pointed out.

"It's harder than it looks." He replied.

"It was meant to be hard." I snapped.

"I'm sorry." He said. "Maybe Cynthia already knows. She can see that future."

"No. If she knew, she'd do something about it. And she's not going to look for something she doesn't expect to see." I looked over at the house.

"You didn't tell Kendall about this, did you?" He asked.

"No Vincent. Your secret is still a secret."

"I'm sorry." He repeated. I shrugged and went back to my mom and Kendall.
