Chapter 11
I must have slept in the next day because someone had to wake me up. I felt someone crawl in my bed. The person wrapped their arms around me.
"Morning Viv." Kendall whispered. I flipped over to look at him and hugged him.
"Morning Kendall. Are you ready for today?"
"I can't wait for our first dance." He beamed. I grinned at him and got out of the bed. He followed. His gaze fell on the window.
"When did that get here?" He asked.
"Last night." I responded.
"Can't you have your birthday to yourself?"
"Kendall, I don't want to talk about this. Let's go eat." I walked downstairs. Landon and my mom sat at the table. Kendall and I joined them. They were talking about tonight. I watched them. They turned to me and smiled.
"Are you excited for tonight?" Landon asked.
"Are you two going together?"
"Yes we are." Kendall replied. The door opened and closed. Vincent and Kingsley entered the kitchen.
"Hello everyone." Vincent greeted us.
"Hey." I smiled. My mom and Landon regarded him warmly.
"The shower is tonight." Kingsley grinned.
"I'm excited to go." My mom beamed. She smiled at Kingsley. They've become fast friends. To bad they're dating the same guy.
"Anyone want breakfast?" I asked, trying to advoid talking about the shower. Even though what Vincent is doing was wrong, I didn't want them to find out in a bad way.
"Sure." Kendall responded. He must have picked up on what I was doing.
"We could go out for breakfast." Vincent suggested, even though he didn't eat. Next thing I knew was that we got into Vincent's and Kendall's cars. Landon and I went with Kendall. Landon still hasn't warmed up to Vincent. Kingsley and my mom were with Vincent. We drove to a restaurant. The inside was empty. We sat in a booth and my mom and Kingsley started a conversation. The waitress came to the table.
"Are you Vivian Donaldson?" She asked me.
"Yes." I answered her. She handed me a box. I opened it. There was a mask on the inside. It was white and had a string on the back. There was a sticky note on the front. I read it out loud.
"Wear me for your 17th birthday." I looked up. Everyone watched me. Kendall took the mask and examined.
"Are you having a masquerade theme?" Kingsley asked.
"It was suppose to be a surprise." My mom sighed.
"A masquerade. That's awesome." I boomed.
"I'm glad you like it." My mom said.
"We'll have to get masks." Kingsley smiled.
Hours later, I got ready for the bridal shower. I pulled on a purple wrap dress and silver ballet flats. I put my hair up and slipped on earrings. Someone knocked on my door.
"Brown eyes, can I come in?" Vincent asked.
"Yea." He opened the door and stepped inside.
"I wanted to talk to you about Kingsley and your mother." He stated.
"Okay. How are you going to take both of them?" I asked.
"I'm going to drop off your mom and go get Kingsley." I stared at him.
"Are you seriously going through with this?"
"I have to." He protested.
"No you don't. You should tell them."
"I can't." He argued.
"You can. Who do you want to be with?"
He sighed. "Honestly, I want to be with-" My mom opened the door.
"Let's go." I guess I wasn't going to find out tonight.
