Our hands lock so tight,

I didn't know if sweat was yours or mine.

You pulled me back from her,

and walked away.

I was scared,

I knew my past,

weren't something proud and great.

So when she grabbed you and said,

I think my heart had stopped its beating.

Calm down, your gentle voice whispered,

as your hands brushed against my face

and your eyes as calm as the tides

stared into my eyes

that soothed me insides.

You smiled,

"What they said,

I've already known.

Now don't be afraid,

and please never doubt your lover's faith.

As I have trusted you with all my fate."
