You sat there beside her in the booth.
The restaurant was empty and you could hear the servers chatting it up in the back.
Her fingers grazed your hand amid conversation and your eyes met.
She had so much to say to you but didn't know how to.
You had said so much already but didn't know if she reciprocated your feelings anymore.
The tension was very evident in the air,
your eyes mirrored the pain they had experienced in your time apart.
But then it happened, your lips met once more after what had seemed to be an eternity.
Slowly yet passionately.
She wanted to go back to you but you had left her shattered just like he had.
You wanted her to come back because without her you were shattered.
She pulled away, her eyes clouded with fear.
You could see the hurt in her but you didn't know how to make it better.
And so you sat there, each tugging at the strings of your hearts reminiscing about what was once your epic love.
