Moonlight bridge

She stood there by the bridge, looking at her watch, it was almost 10. How much longer would she wait? It had been 1 hour past the time he said he would be there. He had told her about the girls he had loved before her, how he brought them flowers and showered them with affection. She had hoped that one day he would do the same for her so she bore her heart to him, told him things that very few people knew about her. Things that she kept to herself.

He'd be here soon, he's late but he would be here...any time now.

The wind blew against her face as she watched the moon glow amongst the stars, he knew so much about the stars. How they changed, why they change,

Argh! Him...

...that's all she could think about. Then suddenly in the distance she saw a figure approaching, she knew that he'd come sooner or later! Her heart fluttered, excited to meet him. Her arms aching to embrace him once again. The dark figure approached from the shadows coming closer and closer...it wasn't him. She had felt this kind of disappointment before, from past lovers who she had told him about. And so she couldn't wait any longer, she had learnt to love herself far too much to stand idly on a bridge waiting for a man and his promises. So she left, she left the man who she thought was the one...
