...you looked the same.
Your eyes creased the same way when you smiled.
Your movements still seemed calculated.
Your scent still felt familiar to her.
Your hair was different but still the same.
Everything about you was the same.
All that had changed was the new accessory draped around your arm.
You pulled her close whenever she approached,
held her a little tighter.
little eye contact was shared.
She couldn't tell if you looked at her the way you once looked at her.
She couldn't look at you for more than five seconds at a time.
Her mind had got used to making you up in places that she wished you were that your presence felt imaginary.
It all felt like one of her multiple dreams about you.
everything felt so surreal.
Your hands grazed for a second but it felt like an eternity in her clouded mind however her heart didn't flutter like it used to.
Her entire being did not stop like it used to.
She pulled away wondering if you noticed that brief moment of contact.
She wondered if she had let her hands linger for another second, how would you react?
Don't get her wrong,
She's just not used to not loving you when you're beside her.
She's not used to seeing you talk to everyone but her.
She's not used to not being in love with you.
