Chapter 2~
"Nerd."
Jessicas POV
I watch everyone scarf down food. I was hungry but I was scared accepting there food meant I was accepting them as friends. Last thing I need is to get close to more people.
"Why aren't you eating?" Beast Boy asked. I looked at him wearily as he gave a me a worried face.
"I'm not hungry." I lied.
BeastBoy tilted his head trying to see under my hood. "Well okay I guess." he frowned. I pulled down my cape more trying to cover my bright red face. Having someone actually care made me flustered.
The waitress looked at me giving me a suspecting look. Whats her problem? Robin interrupted her glare by ordering milk shakes for everyone. I bit my tongue. I wish they would stop being so nice to me. The waitress returned flashing me another glare, it couldn't be my hoodie right? Raven was wearing hers too.
The waitress whispered something to Robin and he nodded frowning. What? He whispered something to Star who whispered to Raven. Raven sent Cyborg what seemed like a private message and he whispered something to Beast Boy. Beast Boy frowned and seemed glum for the rest of the night while the others seemed alert.
I got up quickly to leave feeling unwanted and awkward. "I better get going!" I said quickly leaving. I ran a good distance away before stopping in a Ally. I took a deep breath and then a bright light blinded me. When I opened my eyes I saw the Titans standing in front of me. I knew it.
"Jessica Adams...." Robin said that name piercing into my skin. "We need to ask you some questions...." he held up a wanted picture of me. Braces Glasses and Freckles, god I hated myself, I hated her.
"There's no Jessica Adams." I growled.
Just then Beast Boy pulled off my hoodie revealing the not so pretty face I always tried to hide. True my blond curls and hazel eyes were pretty but they didn't make up for my boyish figure and awkward face. Most of all it was the face on the wanted posters covering everyone wall, and pole in town.
I struggled to pull my hoodie on but Beast Boy ripped my cape off. "I give it back!" I yelled reaching for it, but tripping and falling face down. Without my cape I was that awkward, accident prone, ugly, nerdy, girl again. I quickly scrambled onto my feet hugging myself for warmth. All of a sudden I felt so naked in front of them.
"We know who you are." Robin declared. I sighed, I was never going to be able to run from this thing, this thing I called myself.
"So what turned you into this?" Robin stuck out a picture of me. I was dressed casually and surrounding by distorted bodies and blood. What I did that night was quickly catching up to me.
"I- I-.... I did that?" I asked taking the picture. "Did I kill them?"
Robin shook his head. "They are in critical condition. "
I looked at the faces and remembering each on felt like a stab to the side. "Its there own fault!" I growled quickly and grabbed my cape then tried to run away. Cyborg shot something at me that made the world go dark. Dammit Jessica!
