Well, the next two days went by in a blur. Rose only left her room to eat and use the bathroom. She never said anything though. When she had finished she went back into her room, only telling me not to disturb her. I went about reading and trying to control my powers. I found out I can make things levitate but only one thing at a time. At first I could only lift small things but with practice I improved. I also found I can "fly".  Well, more I levitate myself and "fly". When I first tried to do, it I fell on my face, so I've been practicing that as well. Along with using my powers, I have been cleaning the mess I made when attacking the vampire. That's how the two days went by and then it was time to see the council and my eyes had already gone red. I could go into the sunlight. Rose rolled out of bed about one in the afternoon. She didn't say much.  She just ate then she put on her cloak and left. I followed her in silence. After about an hour of walking through the forest we arrived at a small cave.

            "Is this where we go?"

"This is the cover for the court. It's underground. Only the slayer society knows of the location," Rose answered as she walked into the cave. We walked in the cave for another hour, always going down hill. We soon reached a fork in the road and were greeted by a large male who looked like he was a bodyguard.

"Miss Valentine, we have been awaiting your arrival," he said as he bowed and led us down one side of the fork into what seemed like a courtroom. There were three "judges" in the raised seats, all of which were male. Rose bowed and I followed her example.

"You may rise," one said. He was a young looking man with red eyes and a crown on his head. I figured that this was the king of the vampires. Beside him was an older looking fellow who, despite his age, looked very intimidating. The last one was a mere child who had a red eye and a purple eye.

"Rose Valentine, you are accused of holding a vampire without the council's consent. You also failed to exterminate the fledgling, putting the humans in danger. Are these accusations true?" asked the old man.

"Yes it is true," Rose answered, looking at the floor.

"Why? He isn't anything special," said the old boy that was now at Nikolai's side, looking him up and down.

          "Jeffery!" Yelled Alexander.

"I was simply wondering," the boy said as he went back to his seat.

So the old man is Mr. Popkins, Nikolai thought putting names to faces.

"I am in love with this vampire." Rose answered looking at the boy.

"That is another crime," Alexander muttered. Nikolai was in a state of shock and then blurted, "I love you too” forgetting the situation they were currently in.

"You are just like your mother! She fell for a pure blood by the name of Trey and they had you and your brother! We had to exterminate them both. However, you were seemingly human-" Alexander was cut off by Jeffery speaking.

"We knew she was pure blood that's why we sealed her powers away. However, the spell is wearing off. I can feel her power from up here," he muttered. Rose then pulled her gun on the boy.

"You killed them,” she hissed, anger in her voice.

"Yes I did, I would advise you to put that away," Jeffery said as his eyes darkened in shade. She put the gun away cursing under her breath.

"I call a recess," Rose said as she dragged Nikolai out of the court. When they were outside in the tunnels she saw something that made her go pale. There before her was the fortuneteller. Rose grabbed the woman and slammed her into the wall.

"This is your fault!" Rose yelled. The woman escaped easily and stood by Nikolai.

"I am not at fault. However, I may be able to fix it. I can lock his powers, making him as dangerous as a human," the woman said.

"Whatever it is do it”, Rose answered quickly.

"There are some conditions.  One, he must never try to use his powers" she said, looking over to Nikolai.  He nodded in agreement.

"Second, he will still appear as a vampire so you must protect him at all costs," she continued, this time rose nodded her head.

"And lastly, you both must love each other," She finished.

"Well, I do love you Rose," Nikolai mumbled under his breath. Rose hugged him tightly right as he said it.

"I do to." As the words escaped Roses mouth Nikolai began to glow. The light encased him in darkness until all of a sudden it was gone.

"Am I human?" Nikolai asked the lady. She nodded and Nikolai hugged Rose lifting her off her feet. The two then ran from the tunnel.  They kept running, far away from the place. The boy walked from the courtroom as they ran away.

"Is this really alright?" the old woman asked as she watched them.

"Well, he isn't a danger anymore and I figured she earned it," Jeffery said.  He was now older, a man who looked just like Rose.

"Can't you tell her the truth Trey i mean Jeffery?" She asked

"We both know I can't, that was the rule. I had to made the choice to watch my children grow, at this point there's no point in returning. Besides i am the reason her mothers dead, she hates me for it and for disappearing. All i can do is watch from the shadow's." he answered.
