Rose walked through the black market quietly, unafraid of all the scary looking men around her. If they attacked her she could take them. She was trained to protect herself from the undead and they were more of a hassle than humans. She walked up to a short man at the end of the tunnel. Beside him, in the corner was an old woman with a black crystal ball.

A fortuneteller. Unusual to find one of them round here. she thought as she waited for the short man to hand her a white box.

"Ah Miss Valentine your holy bullets." the short and balding man said as he and Rose swapped a sack of gold coins for the box. She was on her way to leave but the old woman in the corner signaled her to come to her.

" You have a large burden placed on your shoulder's dearest," the old lady said looking out from her decorative cloak.

"How did you guess?" She asked sarcasm in her voice, her face in a classic 'really?' look.                              .             .

"Well you know the answer, you are smart. It was the ball," the woman answered referring to the ball in between her small and wrinkly hands.

This lady has lost all her marbles. Rose thought as the woman finished voicing her insanity.

"But your troubles have just started." The woman continued as the ball showed images of last night and the child clearly escaping into the shadows. Now this little show caught Rose's attention.

I killed the child, I know I did. She tried to convince herself what she saw was more of this woman's insanity.

"No she did not die. She is very much alive and is in search of revenge." The woman smiled crookedly as the picture showed the vampire in her home watching over Nikolai as a predator does their prey.

"A lie, you insane old loon," Rose muttered her voice slowly beginning to rise.

"I am as sane as can be dear. Would you like to see the present?" Her smile became cunning. The look she gave was enough to make Rose snap and believe the woman. Rose took off running faster than she would normally like. Large amounts of horrid situations popped into her head. She waved them away, trying to push away the eerie feeling of dread crawling into her.   She started to doubt herself thinking maybe she was over reacting.

There's probably nothing wrong. Yeah he'll be sipping tea and reading one of my books. She tried to reassure herself. She turned and ran up the hill her pace a sprint, her chest felt like it was on fire but she didn't stop. Actually, she went faster. The outside of the house looked the same and from the windows it all seemed fine. Rose slowed down her legs feeling like mush. She was panting and sweating like she had ran a mile, which wasn't that far off. She reached for the door handle and opened it walking in, the only sound was Rose's panting. She walked down the hall, looked in the kitchen to find what looked like a very bad horror movie. The chairs and table were in splintered pieces all over the place. The window was shattered. Blood drops lead into the living room; a pool of blood forming at the door. She slowly walked into the living room, her hand on the gun on her side. She glanced to her side where a mirror lay on the floor. She looked like a mess. Her hair had frizzed and knotted, it stuck to her face as the sweat dried. She felt the urge to clean up but she ignored it and turned the corner. The little girl stood against the far wall her jaw was hanging by a bit of flesh. There was a rip in her gown with large amounts of blood flowing from it. Any normal person would be dead but she wasn't normal. She looked at Rose with tears in her eyes. Rose pulled her gun and shot the child in the chest, putting her out of her misery. More blood splattered on the wall. The place looked worse than Rose. Everything was broken and ripped. Something’s were upside down and halfway across the room, not to mention the dead vampire girl. She didn't see Nikolai anywhere. She went over to the basement door, which was on it's hinges. She walked down the stairs her gun behind her back as she descended into the blackness.                      .
