My walls were full of pictures now. The old pictures were still up for the reminder of the old times but they didn't hurt as much. I was happy with the way things were going but something was off today. My gut clenched whenever I thought of school. "Hey brother, is it alright if I ride in with you today?" I shouted and tugged my shirt down.
He poked his head in before looking at my face then walked in and plopped down on my bed. "What's wrong?" I placed a hand on my stomach turning to him. "I don't know, something feels off." He shrugged his shoulders, stood back up and walked up to my wall hanging another picture. It was of Eloy under a car with me handing him a greasy tool. "Oh just looking at that picture makes me so mad. I sware, he lost the gloves on purpose."
"Cause I did." I turned around quickly throwing the brush that was in my hand. "I knew it. Eloy that's not fair. Look!" I shoved my blackened stained hands in his face only to pull away as he snapped his jaws at my fingers. "They look b-e-a-u-tiful!" Rigel and Eloy sang. I stomped my foot and stormed out of the room with Thatch at my side and into the kitchen. "Boys stop teasing Celesta! Honey I'm going to need you try and get that off by Friday. There's going to be another party for father's work and they're asking for you again." I nodded my head as Eloy walked in wrapping an arm around my neck and tugging my hair. "Don't worry, Mrs. Owens. I'll make sure doesn't touch any tools. I will tie her hands together to keep them safe if I have to!" My mother smiled. "It's you I'm worried about dear!"
I laughed pulling away from a pretending to be hurt Eloy and gave my mom a hug. I walked away with Eloy giving my mom a hug as well followed by Rigel. We all packed into the truck with me in the back having lost rock-paper-scissors against Eloy. Again.
We pulled up as normal, next to Shannon, Rodrick, and Aliza. At the sight of Rigel, Shannon was leaping from the hood of Rodrick's car and into Rigel's arms. After two months the two hit it off smoothly, no problems at all fitting together like two peas and a pod. "Hello, my sweets!" Shannon giggled kissing Rigel and I faked throwing up. "I'm walking away before I get infected with cupid's love." They smiled into the kiss and this time Eloy hooked an arm through mine.
"Shall we, my good sir!" I laughed at his antics. "Certainly my lady!" The others laughed and we walked away with a skip in our walk. "Make anything new?" Eloy nodded his head vigorously. "But of course. All in good time of course when we get into the great land called Mr. Wolfe's music classroom!" I chuckled as I turned to look at him. "That would certainly go to Mr. Wolfe's head!" He smiled ready to say something else when I was shoulder checked. Julia's voice barely above a whisper. "Watch it, Thief." I froze from picking up my violin to which Eloy picked up for me.
I looked up at her to see her smiling nicely. "What did you just call me?" I whispered. She sighed shrugged her shoulders. "I said good grief, watch where you're going instead of ogling someone who is way out of your league." Eloy pulled me back. "That's enough Julia. Come on Celesta Mr. Wolfe is expecting us." I nodded my head slowly allowing Eloy pull me away but as I looked back at Julia, she was smirking giving a little wave all the while mouthing thief.
A cold terror washed over me. How did she know? How did she find out? Where did she find that out at? When did she find out?
I sat roughly in my seat causing Mr. Wolfe to look up from the papers on his desk. "Mr. Ricci, will you take these paper to Miss Willis? She's expecting them." Eloy nodded his head slowly looking at me to the papers then back again. I gave him a small smile and he was off.
"What's wrong?" I stared at Wolfe for a long time. "Julia. She called me a thief. She knows. I don't know how but she knows." Mr. Wolfe shook his head standing up to walk in front of my desk. "It must be some mistake Celesta. I mean you did steal her boyfriend." I shook my head. "Eloy said it himself. Friends. We're just friends. Plus I saw her. She smiled at me waving, mouthing, thief as Eloy pulled me away." I breathed and then out, a panic attack slowly starting to build up. "Listen to me Celesta, everything will be fine. I promise, okay." He placed a hand on my head and my breathing slowed and I calmed. "Alright Mr. Wolfe, if you say so."
