It happened all to fast. Qusim and his people barely stood a chance as the professionals were in whisking me away to safety. And once outside, when I saw him, I ran even at the protests of my saviors.
I jumped into his arms and held on tight only to look away when Quism's voice reached my ears. "No, please, Celesta. I love you." I turned away tucking myself into Eloy. "I am never letting go of your hand. Its scary without you Eloy, it really is." I could feel him smile. "I'm more than happy than happy to oblige." I pulled as an officer approached for questioning. She had been very caring and to the point and once done I spotted Jay. He walked towards his arm wrapped and fixed up and a big smile on his face. "Eloy, I'm going have to apologize for this." I let him go as Jay neared. "For what?"
"For this." I pulled Jay down to my level kissing him goodnaturedly before backing away. "Thank you, Jay. For coming to my rescue when my knight was busy elsewhere." He swallowed hard backing away.
"You were absolutely right Eloy. She's enchanting." Eloy pulled me back from around my waist. "And she's mine so back off." Jay raised his hands up in surrender. "That's all her. All her man."
"Celesta! Sweetheart?" I turned spotting my family and my friends.
I ran with all might jumping into their arms hugging them tightly. It was then I started to cry. As I calmed Rigel reached punching Eloy's arm. "Where you?" I cleared my throat pushing my brother back. "It was an epic tale. We all resting around the fire. Telling each other of how we came to be in the spot. All different, and all came to be there in there own ways." My brother rolled his eyes, crossing his arms. "Stop it brother and listen." I waved arms around. "Music played softly and the talking came to a low murmur. A smoke bomb was thrown into the clearing causing mass panic." Jay laughed. "There was only six others Celesta, stop exaggerating." I pushed him. "Anyway, mass panic. Then I was separated from my knight in shining armor by a force of evil as the fog of illusion joined its cause. As I was pulled from the confusing mist, a monkey leaped from the trees assaulting the capturer."
"A monkey?" Jay drawled and I smirked. "But it was for not, the monkey was then taken captive and we were spelled. The end." My parents shook their head looking in Qusim's direction. "Poor boy. To think he did all that just to get to you." I flinched looking over at Qusim who looked beaten.
"He'll get over me someday, I hope." Eloy nodded pulling me close. "Celesta, your violin got destroyed during all of that. Someone stepped through it." I was quiet for a long time.
I had been through a lot with the violin. He had been my only comfort but he was a thing of the past. He might have been the only thing holding me back from moving on. "It's alright. I can always buy a new one. Like I said from the beginning right, he was nothing but a reminder." Eloy nodded slowly. "Well, I guess your father's guest tomorrow will have to suffer without your music." I stiffened turning to my parents than to everyone else.
"Know of any music stores that sell violins." They shook their heads and I dropped mine. My dad reached out patting me on the head. "Go look on your bed when you get home. We had to change the address before we left, so it came late, but I think you'll enjoy it." I beamed. "Thank you, dad."
We all head home. Well except for me. I went with Eloy. I couldn't stand being away from after what happened. I mean I love my family but I was not about to crawl into bed with my parent or Rigel. That was weird. I was not a child and nothing really happened to the point where I was going to be traumatized.
Or so I thought. Anything that clacked or banged I panicked. But Eloy was there. He always brought me back to reality. He never left my line of sight making me feel safe and protected. Ruthy and James showered me. Making me feel all the safer.
We sat around the table as I recounted the tale for them but not as much as I did with my parents. If had told them outright what would have happened they would have freaked. "I really broke him. He was so sure that what he was doing was what I wanted as well. Makes me feel sorry for ever leaving him." Eloy reached cupping my hands into his. "You did the right thing Celesta. It would not have been fair to you. You did not love him anymore and you had every right to leave him. Don't feel bad. It's his fault for not getting through his head that he was done with you. He couldn't see where he had all the life he needed with Violet." A tear dropped and reached up wiping it away.
I sighed before smiling. "This will be a story to tell the children." Eloy choked as Ruthy and James laugh wholeheartedly. "That's my girl." James reached over patting my head. Yes, it would be a story for later in life and lesson to be learned from for my children. They can take anything out of it if they only listened.
