Chapter 7

I cant believe what I had just said.

I didn't even think it through. I just said it.

Yet it felt so good to get that weight off my shoulders. And by the look on her face, I knew it was a good idea.

She was staring in wonder at Jace, and he was staring back. Then, she smiled and jumped onto him.

"Mommy told me about my daddy before! She said he was kind and caring and funny and sweet. She said he was nice to cuddle with," then she looked at Jace. And to my surprise, glared a bit. "She said she only left him, because he showed he didn't love her anymore," Then she looked up with hope in her eyes. "But you love me, right daddy?"

Jace POV

"But you love me, right daddy?" she looked up at me with wide eyes.

"How could I not love you?" I say. She smiles brightly. Then I lean to her ear and whisper. "I never stopped loving your mom either"

She smiles at me even more. Then the door opens and someone yells "Were home!"

Clary POV

"Were home!" yelled Penelope.

   Cece jumped off Jace and ran down the hall yelling "Carter!"

  Carter is Cece's age. He's Penelope's son. Him and Cece are best friends, always have been. He was born about half a year before her.

  I run after her, muttering a quick sorry to everyone. I have to tell Penelope that we have guests, before she starts freaking out about robbers and stuff.

  When I turn the corner, I find Penelope unloading some groceries. I accidentally stub my toe on the way in.

   "BLOODY HELL, THAT HURTS!" I yell. Penelope looks up and rolls her eyes. I'm always getting hurt.

  The first time I did that, she told me I was as graceful as a baby deer. So, me being me, I answered back with a sarcastic "Oh snap! There goes my chance at walking on the runway!"

  It was kind of funny. It was three days after I got my job as a model.

  Penelope comes over with some ice. I press it on my foot and sigh. She grins and continues unpacking.

  "Penelope," I start. She looks at me. "They found me." I say blankly. She drops the container of hot chocolate mix. Quickly, she picks it up and puts away. Then she turns around.

  "Where are they?" she asks me.

  I answer with "The reading room".

  She starts hopping up and down.

" Then let's go!"

O.M.G! I am so sorry for not updating! With baseball, track and field and my trip to Niagara falls, I've been soooooo busy!!!
