Kayla's POV
"Okay class take out your books and turn to page 576!" My teacher, Mrs. Larry, announced and my eyes grew wide at the thought of her reminding us endlessly about it. But I continued to forget, but I'm the main one complaining about her talking too much.
"Um Mrs. Larry?," My best friend, Bretman, asked raising his hand with a smack of his lips. "What page is that on?" He continues.
I giggled, covering my mouth as Mrs. Larry rolled her eyes and mumbled something causing Bretman to snap his neck to the side and give her the 'bitch what' face.
"I already said 576, Bretman." She sighed shaking her head and moving on with the class.
"Bret," I whisper yelled since he was in front of me. "Pssst, Bret!"
"What?" He asked turning his head a little and I frowned.
"I need to borrow your book," he turned all the way to me and flipped his quiff from his face with a scoff. "Please." I added quickly.
Bretman wasn't your typical boyish best friend that flirted with you and bought you things out of kindness. He was actually quite the opposite.
He was shorter than most guys and knew how to do make up, like a pro. He was ,indeed, gay and had a very bad attitude if you were rude to him too. But he would buy me things a lot because he says I'm a bad bitch that needs to be spoiled. Whatever that means.
"Fine here," he handed me the book and I smiled, kissing my hand and patting his cheek. "Hurry up so I can copy your work." I laughed and nodded.
"Are you both done interrupting the class?," Mrs. Larry spoke aloud and I cleared me throat doing the work as if I didn't know what she was talking about. "You shouldn't be writing because I didn't give you the work yet, darling." She shook her head and I slowly looked up to see he whole class looking at me.
"Oh, you can continue." I told her and she rolled her eyes and continued with the lesson but not before giving, Bretman a one over.
"Where is your book?" She asked folding her arms and I rolled my eyes as a few people from the class groaned probably wanting to go on with the lesson.
"Please can we get going with the lesson, damn. We have like 30 minutes left until we go to lunch and I won't get a 0 just because, Bretman, doesn't have a book." Amber, the pretty, white girl, that sat all the way in the back commented.
"Um, you all are right. Just share with a peer and let's begin, take out your laptops and let's begin on the lesson." I face palmed so hard I'm surprised my damn eyebrows didn't wipe off. I also earned a few stares and glances.
"Um...Bret-"
"Lemme guess, you forgot your MacBook pro at the apartment?," I gave an innocent smile as my eyes watched him take his own MacBook pro from his duffel bag. "Well you're out of luck, sis, cause I forgot to grab it when I saw it on your bed-" I whined and grabbed his arm.
"There's another way we can solve this, B."
"Hell no, Kayla," he shook his head and tried to turn back around but I stuck my lip out and gave him my best puppy eyes. "Lord have mercy- fine, Kay but we have to share it because I'm trying to keep this A." I grinned and nodded and got up from my seat.
Eyes watched me but I didn't care as I pushed Bret's chair over and slid mine beside his underneath the table.
"So am I, B. So am I."
............
Bretman and I decided to go to Taco bell for lunch because I was in the mood for some fiery tacos.
