1 month later
It's been a month. One whole month with no speaking, calling, or texting.
"Steve," CJ called me from upstairs and I groaned while throwing my head back in frustration. "Come here, man, and stop having a temper tantrum." He said and I slowly stood up while making my way upstairs.
I opened the guest room door where he slept at and saw him trying to wrap a Jordans shoe box.
"What the hell are you doing?" I ask walking over to him and he bit his lip in concentration as he used silver ducked tape to tape on some red glittery wrap.
"Wrapping my girls birthday gift...but I need some help," he shook his head looking at the mess and finally just ripped the whole thing off. "Her birthday parties tomorrow at the club downtown and I want you to come." He said and I walked over to him.
"Don't tape it with sliver tape man," I said picking up the clear tape handing it to him and he nodded getting the red wrapping once more. "And I don't think going to her party is a good idea-"
"Why because you haven't seen, Kay in a long time? You're a pussy, man." I was getting so tired of people calling me scared and not man enough for shit.
"I didn't say I wasn't going, bitch. I just said I thought it was a bad idea," I lied but I was pissed about being called those things so I agreed anyway. "I'm going to the store." I mumbled heading out of the room.
"You mad, nigga?" He laughed as I left without another word. I hoped in the car and drove to the store while listening to some low music.
"Hi, welcome to family Dollar." a dark skinned lady with perfect white teeth smiled and I nodded with my own genuine smile.
I headed to the back for some hot Cheetos, the chips that Kayla got me hooked on.....hm, Kayla.
"Damn, excuse the fuck outta me," That voice....I haven't heard in a month. "Oh- you don't have nothing to say back?" She raised a brow as I finally looked down at her beautiful face.
"I-I'm, I-I'm..."
"I'm I'm I'm. You what, boy?" She asked and when I just stared at her she sarcastically chuckled. "You know what? Move." She pushed pass me and I was speechless.
I've never seen her act this way.
"Shit." I cursed as I searched around the store for her but she was no where in sight. I grabbed pineapples and a cold water instead of the chips.
Soon enough I ended up in the gym and was letting my anger out on a punching bag.
"Aye, man, you're gonna brake it," someone laughed behind me and and I looked back to see a tall boy with brown hair and a short, skinny girl with blonde hair. "You must really have some shit to let out." He laughed again and I breathed deeply as I leaned against the punching bag.
"I guess you could say that," I sighed flipping my sweaty hair back and looking at the two that stood before me. "Stephen." I said and the girl blushed while looking some place else.
"I'm, Chase, and this is my sister, Chasity," he said pointing at her with his thumb and she waved while I smiled and waved back. "Your tats are sick, bruh." He complimented and I looked down and chuckled.
"It's a hobby," I shrugged turning around to get a drink of water. "Anything you guys needed?" I asked turning back around and wiping my sweat off with a towel.
"I think that's my sister's job-"
"Shut up, Chase," She blushed and I chuckled as Chase put his hands up in defence. "I was going to ask if you do your own tattoos?" She asked quietly and I watched as she eyed my body.
