Stephen's POV
19....hm....was she sure?
She was 19 years old and probably just started college while I'm 23 and have a whole house...and a dog.
"Nineteen, man?," My close friend, Charles asked while doodling in his notebook. "I mean I guess its, okay? But that is kind of young though." He added finishing up on the doodle which looked like something I would get tatted on myself, if I had any room.
"Her body wasn't fucking, nineteen. It was a split 22-" he cut me off with a snicker and I groaned sitting on the couch in my lounging room I put in the tattoo shop. "It's just 4 years."
"That's what I'm saying, man. You stressing for nothing," he shrugged sitting the pen down and holding his finished creation up and inspecting it. "What's her name anyway?" He asked and I scoffed.
"What so you can try and take her, no thanks." I got up and went to the mini fridge, getting out a bottle of liquor.
"I've had a girlfriend for a month now and I don't plan on cheating on her, she's crazy," he shook his head and I chuckled opening the top with a beer bottle opener. "But seriously, what's her name?" I sighed and sat back on the couch taking a sip of the strong alcohol.
"Her name's Kayla-"
"Hm, I know a girl named Kayla," he mumbled to himself turning in the roller chair and facing me. "You said she's nineteen, right?" I nodded taking another gulp of my drink.
"Hold up cause- nah I'm trippin'," he shook his head grabbing his phone from the table and quickly texting someone. "Tell me more about her." He said squinting his eyes a little as he leaned back in the chair.
"Well um, I don't really know her that well but she is very beautiful, she has a bun in her head, and she has killer curves-"
"Say no more, big man. That's my girlfriend's sister," I jerked my head back and watched as he held up a picture of the exact same girl I saw at taco bell the other day standing by who I'm assuming is her sister, Charles' girl. "I haven't really told you about my girlfriend, Tamera, but she says, Kayla's been talking about you non-stop." He said putting his phone away and I was a little surprised.
"Why?," I asked mainly towards myself but I knew Charles heard me. "We just met like two days ago." I finished sitting my drink down and grabbing my blunt that was sitting in the back of my ear where most people put pencils for school.
"Kayla's only nineteen, Steve. And from what I've witnessed since I've been with, Tamera is that Kayla hasn't been in a relationship. Like a real relationship," he says, grabbing a lighter from his pocket and throwing it at me causing me to catch it. "She also could be thinking about the age difference. Seeing that Kayla hasn't dealt with anyone her age for a long time, hm, what makes you think she's confident enough to go for a grown ass man with a job and a whole mansion, huh?"
I thought about what he said as I continued to pack up my stuff and clean the place you a little. I didn't want her to be insecure about talking to me, I'ma nice guy for Peet's sake. I just have lots of tattoos and carry a mean face, for show.
I heard the door opening and sighed deeply, scolding myself for not putting the sign on closed.
"I'm sorry but we're clo- Oh! K-kayla? What are you doing here?" I dropped my phone on the floor and cursed while bending down to pick it back up.
"I could be asking you the same question, but I think I have an idea," her soft voice ring through my head and I licked my lips but before I could speak she continued. "But if your closed I'll just-"
