Lexi's POV;

I was running. Trees passed me in a blur as rain poured down on me. My nice clothes now hung to my body very wet. My shoes were slippy in the mud and it made me fall.

I screamed as hands wrapped around me. Thrashing around I tried to climb out of their arms, I froze as I heard his voice,

"time to go home baby" dad sneered.

A scream ripped from my lips, opening my eyes I was in the forest. It was still raining, my body was shaking from the cold as my wet clothes draped on me. It was just a dream.

I sat up to move but suddenly fell back down in pain, my arms and legs hurt to move and I felt boiling hot even in the rain. I tried again and bit my tongue in pain as I managed to sit up, my back leaning against the tree.

"R-Ryan" I croaked out even though I knew it was useless. I was in the middle of the forest with no one around and my voice wouldn't be heard anyway.

I glanced around looking for something to help me, anything.

"Help?" I croaked out like a frog, I would have laughed at how I sounded but I was in too much pain.

Tears rolled down my eyes as I tried to stay still, it hurt to move the slightest. I felt my eyes growing heavy, I just wanted the pain to stop.

Closing my eyes I let the tears fall as I cried myself to sleep; something I had done lots of times before.

Whispers. People were talking. I tried to lift my eyes open but it was like weights were holding them down. I moaned in pain as whoever was holding me lifted me up.

Whoever was holding me then placed me on a soft bed. I felt my eyes become wet as I tried to move into a comfortable position, why did it hurt so much?

"Will she be okay?" I heard a lady say.

Were they talking about me? Where was I? Was this heaven? Had I died and gone to heaven?

"She has a fever but she'll be okay soon. I injected the medicine into her body as she was asleep. She should wake up in the next hour or so. Have you contacted him?"

What medicine? Was I going to die? What did injected mean? Contacted who? I just wanted Ryan, I'm scared. I wish I had my bear, he always kept me safe.

"We sent a message to his Beta, the Alpha, his son will be arriving soon"

"good" I heard the man reply.

Who was coming? Was Ryan coming here to collect me. Suddenly the voice in my head, I mean my wolf started to whine. Why was she whining? Was I dying?

"Where is she?!" I flinched as Ryan's voice echoed around the room.

I heard the lady squeak and the man didn't say anything. I tried opening my eyes again, they lifted a little bit and I could make out the lady and man but they were blurry.

"R-Ryan?" I croaked out again, my throat was sore and it hurt to talk.

The man and ladies head snapped to look at me. The lady looked a few years older than me, she had dark brown hair and pretty brown eyes. The man was maybe older than her by a year and had black hair and brown eyes.

"Good you're awake. I suspect Ryan will be here any minute now" the man said.

I tried to nod but it hurt,

"sweetie you shouldn't move, it's going to hurt for a while but you'll feel better soon" she smiled at me taking a seat on the chair next to the bed.

I kept quiet doing as she said. I yelped as the door flung open, smashing against the doors. I bit my tongue as pain spread around my body, I wanted the covers off but I couldn't move without pain.

Flashbacks of dad slamming the doors open jumped into my mind but I quickly shook them away. I wanted to smile and cry at the same time, smile because Ryan was here and cry because he shouldn't have come.

"Lexi" he breathed out, I stayed quiet as I watched his eyes change from black to blue again.

"I suggested that she rests and tries not to move, it will just cause her pain" the lady sitting down said.

"Why is she in pain?! What did you do to her?" Ryan yelled at the man, his eyes changing back from blue and black.

"My Beta found her on our territory and bought her back here, I remember your father announcing to the board you had found your mate. I called you as soon as she got here, she has a fever of 105 but we injected some painkillers in her. She should be fine soon" the man replied calmly which shocked me because Ryan was being so rude to him.

They saved my life. They could have killed me like Ryan did to those wolves who tried to hurt me, but they didn't.

"T-Thank y-you" I managed to whisper, my throat hurt but it was worth it.

"You're welcome sweetie" the lady smiled at me making me want to smile.

She was like a mother figure, she was so kind and pretty. I wonder if she had children?

"Mate?"

I snapped my head to look at Ryan, his eyes were still black but he looked less scary.

'Yes! Mate, mate, mate!' my wolf screamed in my head.

Nodding my head I watched as Ryan slowly walked over to me, his eyes never leaving mine. I bit my tongue as he sat on the bed taking in my hand, I stared at him as the pain lessened. I stayed quiet as he lent forward and nuzzled into my neck.

"Mate. Mine. Safe. Mine. Mate" he whispered over and over as he hugged my body, it didn't hurt when he touched me.

Everyone was quiet as they watched him do it. I didn't know what to do so just sat staring at him. The kind man and lady were now standing off to the side, the mans arms wrapped around her waist as they smiled at each other. Ryan's dad and another older man stood looking at us, Ryan's dad looked neutral; he wasn't smiling or anything but the man had a little smile on his face.

I looked down at Ryan as he pulled away from me, his blue eyes staring back at me.

"Lexi" he whispered just staring at me.

Nodding my head I smiled, I wasn't in pain anymore.

"You made the pain go" I said in a soft voice.

"That's what I'm here for baby" he whispered stroking the hair out of my face.

I smiled and flung my arms around him, he was amazing.

"Okay now that's done can we go now?" I heard Ryan's dad say irritated.

What was wrong with him? Before I could ask the man spoke

"it's quite late outside, I suggest you stay here the night and leave in the morning. I have a spare room for you all. Obviously Lexi and Ryan can stay in this room." I blushed as the lady winked at me.

I didn't get why she was winking it wasn't as if Ryan would kiss me, he had only kissed me twice. I felt my cheeks redden as I thought of that day in school when I kissed Ryan. I would have to ask Holly why he bit me.

Ryan's dad nodded at the kind man before turning to the guy next to him.

"You can head back to the pack and keep charge of everything"

The man nodded and smiled at everyone before walking out the door.

"Goodnight" Ryan's dad said before following the man out of the room.

"Wait!" I called out before the lady could leave

"yes?" she asked politely.

"Thank you ermm..." I stopped talking, I didn't know her name.

"Lindsey. And your welcome Lexi, goodnight children" she grinned before walking out and shutting the door.

"Finally" Ryan sighed,

Tilting my head I stared at him, finally what?

"Finally what?" I mumbled.

"This" he said before pressing his lips to mine.

I felt butterflies in my tummy and the tingly feeling. I stood still for a moment, I didn't know what to do. Do I kiss him back?

'YES!' my wolf screamed in my head trying to control me and make me kiss him.

Lifting my hands up I wrapped them around his waist as I kissed him back, I think I was doing it right. He kept licking my bottom lip but I didn't know what to do. I yelped a little as he bit my bottom lip. He did it again. He bit me!

I'm telling his mum off of him, it's rude to just bite people. I opened my mouth to tell him off when he slipped his tongue in. I felt warm and fuzzy as his tongue moved with mine. His hands moved to my butt and I jumped back as he squeezed it.

I jumped off the bed and ran to the corner sitting down. What just happened? Why was his tongue in my mouth? And why did he squeeze my butt?

"Lexi?" I jumped as I realised Ryan had climbed off the bed and was in front of me.

"Why?"

"I'm sorry baby. It's so hard to control my wolf around you, he just wants to mark you. Im so sorry" he whispered the last bit as he pulled me into his arms.

"I'm not ready for that" my voice barely audible over the sound of my racing heart.

"I know and I can wait for as long as it takes for you to be ready"

I smiled as I hugged him. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he picked me up. He laid me in the bed before slipping in next to me.

"Goodnight baby" he placed a kiss on my head making the butterflies come back.

"Goodnight Ryan" I yawned as I laid my head on Ryan's chest.

I closed my eyes thinking how the argument that had got us in this situation was easily forgotten. And then I realised even if I tried to run away I couldn't.

I think I love Ryan.
