Being the most important building in the city meant the Capitol building never left the attention of the most powerful. Bynan Negarius gave the property his undivided attention. Behind his diligence, lie a reason, hiding in secret. Only the most trusted guards were awarded position on the grounds. Mistakes weren't taken lightly, and punishment for mishaps were severe. Whole careers rest on the shoulders of the teamwork it took to keep the building safe. Now knowing the Light Witch resided in the Capitol building, allowed Pilo to understand why the building received the caution it did. If the Light Witch never left the Capitol building, then it had to be where Pilo could find Blue Lotus. The odds were stacked up against him.

Demini and Pilo placed the mattress in the closest, and closed the door. Inside the closet there weren't any windows, and it would be the darkest place they could find in the apartment. They would wait out the day in the dark while they thought out their plan to retrieve the flower. The thought of forgetting about the flower, received a lot of attention. It would be easier to not even attempt infiltrating the Capitol building. Fixating on gaining more power kept bringing Pilo's attention back to getting near the Light Witch. There didn't exist any other way. It had to be done.

Man would be the building's weakness, and Demini knew just the way to expose that weakness. The trick would be going to be finding the weakest link. After shift change, a good majority of the guards spent their time in a local tavern. Demini would go in alone, find a good candidate, and pull the information needed out of him. Pilo would wait patiently while she completed her task. Sending Demini on compelling missions, with disrespectful guards, never sat well with Pilo, but he had strength in keeping his jealousy to himself. He felt they weren't worthy to speak with her, and they didn't deserve her company. She had never been treated with the respect that Pilo felt she deserved. Focusing on the end game would keep him calm during this mission.

Pacing up and down the hall, Pilo attempted to calm himself as Demini got ready for her mission. She rummaged through the closet, finding something seductive to wear, and trying not to give Pilo's anxiety any attention. Going up against Bynan didn't sit well with Pilo. The man was a legend and held high respect throughout the ranks of all departments in the city's law enforcement. Having kept distance from the Capitol building throughout his career, Pilo knew nothing of the guards and their capabilities. To him, nothing had worth more than his life. His future with Demini held the utmost importance, more than any powers he could enhance.

Demini stepped out of the bathroom, and it made Pilo stop in his tracks. She never ceased to catch his attention. Looking upon her, she kept him in awe. She spent several hours doing her hair and makeup to accentuate her natural beauty. Throughout his life, Pilo fell in love with Demini over and over again. This moment would be one of them. He wanted to put his hands on her, and taste her lips, but he knew he had to rely on his self-control. Her dark black hair ended in curls at her shoulder. The light caught her greens eyes sparkling above her glossy red lips. In waves, the colors of her eye makeup created a work of art, across the lids of a gaze that could bring any man to his knees. Curling her lip, she exposed a fang while giving Pilo a flirtatious smile. Clicking down the hallway, the heels at the end of her long smooth legs created a hypnotizing cadence. A tight black dress made all of her gorgeous curves predominant. Pilo stared at her with his mouth slightly open, just like he always had.

"Are you ready," she asked.

"I'd follow you anywhere," he replied.

Outside the building they loaded in her carriage, and made a stop before going to the tavern. Pilo returned to the mansion to use his pull within the Counsel. Recruiting one of the Mayor's staff, Pilo had him accompany Demini inside the tavern. The staff member accompanied them to point out the guard that would have the most valuable information. He also acquired some of the Mayor's letterhead, with a wax stamp at the bottom, to get him past the Capitol's gate guards, and into the building. With the pieces in place, Pilo gave Demini the reins, as he remained in the carriage, as she entered the tavern. While Demini collected information, Pilo took the carriage to recruit some insurance.
