Focusing on Ladieta's words became a difficult task when she sat on her throne. The slits on the side of her purple, silk dress exposed her long smooth legs. When she hung one of her legs over the side of the arm to the throne, gravity dropped her dress right above her pelvic area. Her long straight black hair ran along her beautifully symmetrical cleavage. Against her pale skin, her red lips stood out like cursed wolf eyes. Pilo knew not to look into the windows of her soul. With concerns over her growing power, he knew her control resided in her gaze. Unable to make eye contact, Pilo had trouble on what parts of her to focus on while she spoke. His luck resided in the fact that Ladieta's enticement kept Demini distracted from his wandering eyes.
"As your queen, I'll be making decisions on the future of our kind from here on out."
"We have a counsel for that," Pilo replied.
"Pilo, we all know that the Counsel isn't doing anything for us."
"You do realize that you have two members in the room with you. I'm trying to figure out why I shouldn't take offense."
"With all due respect, because I do respect you, those men know nothing. You all were hunters before this. Even with you, it's no secret you don't want this...As for me, this is what I've been waiting for. I lived this lifestyle before I was given these powers. On my own, I've been able to unlock more knowledge of our abilities than those men have ever been able to teach us. I keep saying those men, because we all know they treat us like second rate citizens, as they feed their lusts up on that hill. A war is coming, and we need to be powerful. They're more like politicians than leaders. My mission is to unite our strengths, and become a force to be reckoned with; instead of hiding in the shadows."
"It comes off a little hypocritical that you want to unite us when you're doing the exact opposite."
"They kill off our kind on a daily basis like we're mistakes. We are precious gifts. We aren't monsters to live in the shadows. We are gods that should rule over man...I'm willing to look past your crimes, against our kind, of offering us up for sacrifices. I need soldiers like you to establish our dominance over this city."
"Flattering as all this is, I'm going to need time to process all of this. I'm very distracted with the mission that I'm knee deep in right now. Let me get the dust settled, and I'll continue this discussion. We were just in need of a change of clothes, to ward of any unwanted attention on our way back home."
"I think Demini would benefit staying with me. There's so much that she could learn from us. You've got her out there, in danger, knowing nothing about the weapons that she has been bestowed with. Such wasted potential."
"I agree that she is a remarkable woman, but we've kinda got this promise to each other that I intend to uphold, and boarding school just doesn't fit in to our plan at the moment," Pilo stood up from his chair. "Bajai, did you say that you had some clothes for us?"
Bajai stood up while nodding his head. He walked to the door, and Pilo made a move to follow.
"Demini, let's go," Pilo said, but she didn't make a move. "Demini," he said again in a more stern tone. She shook off the trance and brought her attention to Pilo. "Let's go get changed."
A little confused, she shook her head and got up from her chair.
"I hope you see the advantages in the opportunities that I've presented here for you today," Ladieta said to Pilo as he walked to the door.
"You can rest assured that I'm going to give this discussion a lot of thought."
Pilo held hands with Demini to make sure she followed him out of the room. Bajai impatiently waited for Pilo to join him out in the hall.
