John ran to The Building.

As he did so, a female Invader attempted to touch Jane's forehead with its right hand.

She kicked it in the chest with her shoes.

The alien-thing's body thudded to the ground...and moved its arms and legs like a robot. She screamed, as they closed the front door...and vowed to survive...at any cost.

The Building's foyers were full of Invaders.

"Keep moving, dear", John watched the alien-things that used to be his friends. He shifted his eyes on the foyer.

"Where should we go?", Jane asked.

"Not here. It's been contaminated with aliens. One touch...and you're one of them. I don't think they're Martians; I think they're from some Other World, past the Milky Way galaxy".

One of the aliens spoke.

"You can't escape us".

It was a man.

"Bill...Is that you?".

"Oh, you do know me, John. You escaped us".

"I am a Businessman; I am not someone in the US Military".

"We know that".

"Why is this happening?".

"We want to conquer Worlds. And Earth is weak. It was easier than in Noght-Skggwomh. I do believe some Worlds are harder to pronounce than others".

"This is enslaving humans".

"Do you expect us to enslave humans? Are they at the beck and call of us? No. We changed them. It was something to behold".

"Behold! I saw 'The Day the Earth stood still', with Jane in '51. The aliens came in peace...This is horrible".

"You may go. And her. But if you attack us, we'll change everyone. And you'll die". Bill, (or the thing that used to be Bill), grinned...as John and Jane fled via the front door...and ran as fast as possible...into a new kind of fear.
