John was tired.

He yawned.

Jane awoke him.

"John, we must go...it won't be too long before the Invaded consume us". He kissed her. He looked out of the window.

"By 24 hours, they'll make New Yorkers into one of them. There's nothing we can do to stop them. But we can leave".

"We can go to somewhere safe. How about Mississippi?".

"That's far away, dear. We...I'll call the Airport".

As he grabbed the phone in his right hand...he heard silence on the other end...

...The phone lines were cut.

"We have a 8:30 PM flight to LA. Then onto Arizona. Then to Mississippi. It's the only way, dear". John quickly checked his passport, black colored wallet, and suitcases.

Jane did the same.

"Are you paying with your credit card?".

"Yes. Look, it's 5:00 PM now. We must go fast. Once we reach the Airport...we can get to LA. And then the connecting flights to Mississippi".

Jane held her purse in her hand.

Once they left the 7th Avenue apartment, John locked up.

They headed to the car.

And, when the doors were closed...and put their seatbelts on...John drove to LAX knowing that New York was in trouble...and there wasn't anything he could do to stop it.

The Airport was full.

John relaxed.

"Jane, let's go".

They took the seatbelts off, then made sure their passports, luggage, and other items were found. Jane waited until John locked up.

"We're abandoning it, dear. If New York is not safe...".

"Let's go!", Jane demanded.

He nodded, as they walked to the Airport's front doors...and were happy to be free of the aliens.

They got in line.

When they saw a female Airport handler, John noticed that her eyes were a milky white color.

He frowned.

And then he didn't bother to go through the security procedures...as they headed to Gate 3.

"This is the place to go to Arizona. If the aliens are here...someone must've touched them. Who that is, I don't know? Let's go on board...I paid for the trip...and we're going as far away as possible from New York". The couple flashed their passports to the cabin crew.

Their eyes were also a milky white color.

"Good evening Sir...Ma'am. Seats 33a and 33b are ready. Have a nice flight", a female alien stewardess said.

And, as they sat down, other travellers sat down as well.

And, by 9:00 PM., the 345 passengers were on board Flight 267...

...Along with the Invaded.
