Ratchet and Clank: Unexpected Assault

Chapter 14: Coming to Polaris

As Ratchet, Clank, Talwyn, Cronk and Zephyr traveled in Aphelion, Cronk turned the radio station.

"Oh, I love this song! Cronk, turn it up! Um, please." Said Zephyr. Cronk turned up the radio and started singing along with Zephyr.

"We're coming to Metropolis! Never looking back again! We're coming to Metropolis!" Sang them both.

"Cronk, change the station. I don't want to listen to Neil Raritanium. And plus, when have you guys listened to music from Solana?" Asked Talwyn.

"Are you kidding me? Me and Zeph were intergalactic shippers! We usually went to Solana and Polaris. We really never went to Bogon, though." Said Cronk.

"Seriously? You spent all that time together with Cronk and Zephyr and you never learned what they did?" Asked Ratchet.

"I never asked. Everybody knew they were war bots. I assumed it was their profession." Said Talwyn.

"Well, shipping is how we met. We decided to join the Polaris Defense Force after we met your father. He and his Lombax friends were in trouble from Tachyon. We saved him Tachyon. So when he left, he only trusted us to take care of his only daughter." Said Zephyr.

"Alright. It seems all this time talking and listening to Pirate Radio has brought us closer to Polaris. Closing in on Meridian City. We will start the protesting there." Said Ratchet.

"I think you should start the protesting, Ratchet. We can find a lot of friends around Polaris who will support us. Me, Cronk, Zephyr, and Clank will split up to do that." Said Talwyn.

"I believe I know just the person who will aid us." Said Clank.

An hour later at Zordoom Prison...

"Slim? What are you doing in Zordoom?" Asked Clank as he was meeting Slim Cognito in Zordoom Prison on planet Viceron.

"Well, I was at a rock concert in Meridian City, and I tried to give an illegal gadget to a couple of girls. I needed to give them something because they wouldn't get off my chest on revealing my body to them." Said Slim.

"Well, you are in a dark cell where no one can see you. How do they get you around to eat and exercise?" Asked Clank.

"I have a hard time answering that. They put me in the lunch room with all the loonies. That's how they get all the insane prisoners around. They put me in a mobile containment box and feed it under the slot. Hint hint." He whispered.

"Why did you say 'hint hint?" asked Clank.

"The slot!" Yelled Slim.

"Ah, yes. But how are you gonna make weapon upgrades in here?" Asked Clank.

"Which reminds me. Why are you here?" Asked Slim.

"I need your assistance in making a new proposition to legalize these illegal weapons upgrades. Well, if you bail me out, I'll give you a piece." Said Slim.

"We do not have enough bolts." Said Clank.

"Hmm. That's a problem. Do you want to break me out?" Asked Slim.

"Slim!? No!" Said Clank.

"Okay. Well, maybe we can still have me in Polaris Defense Force custody and still protest." Said Slim.

"Hold on, I'll call Ratchet and see what he has to say about it." Said Clank. Clank called Ratchet on his communicator.

"Ratchet, I am trying to work things out with Slim. We are going to strike a deal with the defense force, saying that he can still be in Defense Force custody and take part in the protest." Said Clank.

"Umm, sure. I'm sure they'll let him out of the prison to yell at people to convince them to let him go." Said Ratchet.

"I know it isn't A great idea, but it might work." Said Clank.

"Good idea or not, we can't do these protests. We need to get back to the Pheonix, pronto. They have taken a prisoner with Agorian armor on, flying towards the ship. Qwark doesn't even trust himself to take the prisoner somewhere else." Said Ratchet.

"Okay, what about Angela?" Asked Clank.

"I actually read online that she was proved to be innocent and was released over a month ago. We're gonna have to let her be." Said Ratchet.

"Very well, then. Have you notified Talwyn and the warbots?" Asked Ratchet.

"Yeah, but Talwyn wants us to all go out for dinner here at a Rusty Pete's Healthy Hamburger Shack." Said Ratchet.

"When the Q-Force is in danger? And are you really in the mood for vegan wheat grass and concrete burgers?" Asked Clank.

"The Q-Force isn't in danger, they have a whole fleet to back them up. And I'm gonna go to the Galaxy Burger across the street an eat with them outside." Said Ratchet.

"Okay, then I guess they'll be no proposition 384629183738293." Said Clank.

"Yeah, I'm sorry bud. But there's a small chance that Angela is out there. Maybe we'll get to see her again." Said Ratchet.

"Well, the important thing is, is that we will get to start doing something about Nefarious." Said Ratchet.

"Who? Oh right. I forgot." Said Clank.

"Alright, lets get back to Talwyn and the warbots." Said Ratchet.

"Very well." Sadi Clank.
