Mello's pov

Could it really be near after all this time ? I accept the call and sure enough it was near on the other end.
"Mello , I need your help ."
"Near the last time we saw each other , L was alive and I challenged you for the role of L's successor. Now that L is dead you have assumed the role of L , that which I challenged you for so what makes you think I would help you ? "
"Because once we were friends , once you would have done anything for me and once the mello I knew would do anything to prove himself worthy even if it meant helping me . I have not officially assumed the role of L due to the Kira case and I have been told that someone from the task force has already taken that role . "
"So , why do you need my help ? "
"Because you are the only one who can help me with this . I need you to try and get as much info on misa amane as possible and also I want you to see if you can find any evidence of naomi misora's body ever bring found . "
"Who's naomi misora ?"
"She was the fiancé of raye penber and she was an old friend of L who assisted him on a previous case . She has been missing for 2 years and the police have conspired with one another and have come to the theory that she committed suicide.  However , as naomi was a good friend of L he had mentioned her and described her as strong and that she would never give up . L was very good with people's characters and he knew that she wouldn't have committed suicide over the death of raye penber but would've tried to avenge her fiancés death . So , I think that she knew something about the Kira case . I just hope that Kira didn't get to her first.  "
"I'll see what I can do but near ..."
"Yes"
"I'll will beat you at finding Kira and then I will be L's true successor "
"We'll see. I will be in touch . "
And the he ended the call . I don't know how he thinks naomi misora is still alive if she knew something that she shouldn't have.

Near's pov

So now that mello has agreed to help me I need to do my part and try and gather information on light yagami.  I doubt I will have any luck so there's only one way to get any evidence . But L failed at it and payed the price for it . I had to get on the inside without light killing me .
