Chapter 20

DANIEL
Daniel sat on his bed as he waited for Jack to say what he had to. He thought suddenly about how much easier his life would have been right then if he was still into Jack. How much better it would be if Jack was the one who made his heart beat faster and made his dick hard as a rock. His eyes roved over Jack's face, settling briefly on his lips. He really was a beautiful boy....maybe. Before Daniel's brain could think through it more, he was already leaning in and capturing Jack's lips with his own. Jack gave a muffled sound of surprise at contact but eventually leaned into the kiss. His lip's opened allowing Daniel to deepen the kiss and he felt....nothing. There was nothing there. Sure it was a good kiss - Jack had skills. But there was no racing heart, no stomach butterflies, no tingling. Not even his dick had stired. Daniel broke the kiss and averted his eyes in embarrassment. He finally looked back to see Jack smirking at him.

"Did that make you feel better?", he laughingly asked.

Daniel's cheeks burned as he roughly answered, "No it didn't."

Before he knew what was happening, Jack tackled him, using his body to pin him to the bed. He did nothing else except stare at Daniel weirdly.

"Jack?", Daniel said, confused.

Jack smiled down at him before leaning down to whisper in his ear. "If I didn't know how in love with Logan you still are. Or if I wasn't pretty much falling for someone else. I'd take off your clothes and slide inside you right now."

Daniel was too shocked to say anything so he just stared wide eyed at the heat in Jack's eyes. He felt the signalling tingle in his balls, telling him he was about to get hard the longer he looked into those eyes. Before he could confirm that the same thing was happening to Jack's body, Jack jumped off him, moving to sit beside Daniel on the bed. The room was silent for a while as they both got themselves under control.

"So where did you learn to kiss like that?"

Jack paused for a beat before bursting into laughter at Daniel's question. Daniel joined in after a second and they both laughed the awkwardness away.

"I picked up some skills here and there.", Jack managed to respond cockily.

They continued to laugh until the sound of Jack's phone ringing cut them off. Daniel could see it was Brendan calling and wondered briefly why Brendan would be calling Jack. He watched as Jack stepped outside the room to answer the call.

Brendan calling made Daniel think about Logan. He thought back to Logan's apology. Yes he'd apologised but the apology had made him feel worse than before if that was even possible. Logan wanted him no doubt, but just not enough. Daniel had admitted to loving him in the heat of the moment and the instant the words left his mouth he had wanted to call them back. And then the dick had the audacity to say he loved him too. Daniel's whole inside had tightened when Logan had said those words but he knew how much he wished it to be true it wasn't. The look on Logan's face when he'd told him as much hurt Daniel to the core but it had to be said - you're lying. Daniel had no idea when or even if he was going to get over Logan but he had no other choice.

Jack came back into the room then, clutching his phone in his hand.

"Is everything OK?", Daniel asked him worriedly.

"Yea everything is ok but we really need to talk", he responded.

Daniel nodded at him and Jack walked over to take a seat on the bed.

"Listen before you say anything ok. I know I'm not Logan's biggest fan. In fact I wanted to kill him when I realised you were starting to want him and not me. But Daniel you're forgetting one thing. He's straight! This is a straight guy whose never Ben remotely interested in another guy, falling in love with one. "

" He's not-"

" Lemme finish. You might want to fool yourself into thinking he doesn't love you but deep down he does. I think it's unfair that he made one mistake and you've condemned him for it. "

" One mistake! He shattered me! ", Daniel shouted.

" And I get that Daniel, I do but you have go look at the facts. Yes he was given a choice between you and his career and as far as I'm concerned Derek's is the villain in this situation. Yes Logan should have told him to go to hell but again this is a straight guy. He freaked out Daniel. I'm not telling you to give him another chance but I'm asking you to give him another chance to explain. Brendan says he really wants to talk to you. Just listen to what he has to say. "

Daniel didn't want to admit that some of the things Jack just said were true and he was pretty sure he wasn't capable of being with Logan again but he still nodded.

" Ok, let Brendan know I'll see him. But it's where and when I say. "

"Ok, I'll let him know. Everything's gonna be OK. You'll see."

Daniel thought about Jack's parting words as he left the room to no doubt call Brendan. "Everything's gonna be ok." Daniel really wanted it to be true.

LOGAN
Logan's heart lept into his throat as Brendan's phone rang. He anxiously watched him talk to whoever was on the line praying it was Jack with good news. Brendan ended the call after a few seconds then pierced Logan with a look.

"That was Jack. He did his part. You're up."
