He isn't breathing.

He isn't breathing.

Those are the only words that keep repeating in my mind. I watch silently, too afraid to go in. I'm too afraid to move. I take deep breathes, and tell myself to relax. Haymitch said he was still alive. So, he can't be dead. But, then, why isn't he breathing?

The door bursts open, and suddenly, I'm standing above Gale, trying to hold back tears. I look around and notice that the nurse has left. My hand goes over Gale's chest, and I lightly tap on him.

"Gale, wake up!" I cry out, soft enough for no one else to hear. "Please! Please, for me." By now, I've started crying, and his body still doesn't start to breathe. I stare at him, hoping that will wake him up, and after a couple of minutes, his eyes flutter open.

"Gale?" I ask, my smile reappearing. He stares at me hard.

"Prim?" He asks, tilting his head to the side. I nod eagerly. "Yes, yes! It's me! It's Prim!" I cry. His face wrenches into a cold look, and he jumps off the bed towards me. I dodge out of the way, and his body slams into the wall.

"What are you doing?" I ask, but he doesn't answer. He turns towards me and attacks me again, this time pinning me on the ground. Now I wish the nurse was still here. His hands are at my throat and it doens't take long until all I start screaming and kicking around for air.

"Help!" I scream. "Gale, stop!" His face shows no sympathy. I swear I see him smile as he watches me struggle. Just as my oxygen is all gone, he's lifted off of me and pinned back. Katniss helps me up and drags me out of the room.

"Katniss, wait." I cry, trying to yank loose of her. She grips onto my wrist tightly, and when I try to pull away, she twists my wrist, and I cry out.

"Stop!" I yell out in a commanding voice. She loosens her grip and turns around fiercely to me. Her eyes are piercing into mine and I take a step back.

"What's wrong with him?" I ask innocently. She softens her eyes and leans down to my level. She never stays mad at me for long. She can't stand it. I look at her, wishing that she could talk. I really need to know what's going on. The hospital door opens, and Haymitch steps out, and slams it shut quickly so Gale doesn't get out. He storms over to us and grips onto my shoulder again, squeezing it tightly.

"Are you stupid? Huh? Is something wrong with you!" He snaps. Katniss pushes him off of me and stares at him with loathing eyes. Don't touch my sister.

"I'm sorry, Haymitch. I didn't know-"

"Why did you leave the room in the first place? I said to stay put!" He interrupts. I wipe a tear.

"I got worried. You were gone too long. I found this room, and when I sae Gale not breathing, I had to come in." I explain. Haymitch wipes his face with his hands.

"Well, that was probably the stupidest thing you could have ever done. Worse than coming to the Capitol. You know why he wasn't breathing? Do you know what you walked in on? You walked in on him getting hijacked." He says. I cover my mouth and let the tears fall from my eyes. Hijacked?

"He attacked me because he..."

"Thinks that you're the bad guy. He's been hijacked into attacking you every time he sees you." Haymitch finishes for me, his voice softer. I'm silent for a moment before jumping on Haymitch and clawing at his face. It takes Katniss a while to finally pry me off, and when she does, Haymitch already has at least fifteen scratch marks on his cheeks, covered with red.

"You knew he was getting hijacked and didn't tell me?" I snap. He wipes one side of his cheeks and scowls at me.

"Yes, princess, I did." He says. I try to attack him again, but Katniss holds me back.

"Why? Why didn't you tell me?" I ask. He rolls his eyes. "Why else, stupid? Because I couldn't. I couldn't tell you without being guranteed that you would do something ridiculous to Snow." He says. I scowl.

"And why shouldn't I do something ridiculous to him? He deserves it!" I cry. Haymitch rolls his eyes again.

"You don't think I know that? Trust me, I do. But whatever stunt that you were going to pull would not have helped things. So it's best that you just shut your mouth, and go back into Katniss's room and let things things happen the way they need to!" He yells. I once again try to jump on him.

"Let things happen? Gale has been hijacked! My sister got her tongue cut off! There are bombs outside because of everything I started, and you want me to let things happen the way they need to? Are you stupid?" I yell. I've never been so angry in my entire life. Never have I yelled at someone with such volume that it almost scares. Haymitch tells Katniss to let me go.

"Fine. Stay here. I hope you have good time dying, because that's exactly where you're headed." He says, and turns back down the hall. I look to Katniss, and she just shakes her head and wipes the tears comeing out of her eyes. It's so rare when I see her cry, so whenever I do, I start to cry. I wrap my arms around her and cry into her stomach.

"I'm sorry." I say in a muffled voice. She smoothes my hair and I wish that she would sing to me. When there's pounding on the door again, she leads me away.

We make it back into the main room, and she ducks down and hides when we hear Snow coming. He's storming down the stairs, his shoes creating an enormous echo on the marble floors. Haymitch runs in and walks over to him, and Snow grabs him by his collar.

"I don't care about her sister or Gale, I want Prim dead. Now." He snaps. Haymitch nods and opens his mouth to speak. "Sir, she...." He trails off and I know what he's going to say, even though I'm begging that he doesn't. Snow stares at him intently, waiting for him to finish the words I don't want to hear. Haymitch gulps.

"Sir, she's here." He says finally, and I close my eyes. "She made it here, and she knows about Katniss and Gale." Snow is quiet, before slapping Haymitch across the face.

"Where is she? Why didn't you bring her to me?" He snaps. Haymitch shakes his head. "I'm sorry. I didn't-"

Snow cuts him off with a snap of his fingers. He drops Haymitch to the ground, and before I can blink, a guard has jerked his head to the side, and blood seeps from his neck. I cover my eyes, even though I've already seen what he's done. Snow really is ruthless. He looks up from Haymitch.

"Clean this up. I don't want this staining my floor." He says. He turns and goes back up the stairs. "Find her!" He orders, and then disappears up the next floor. Guards spread around the mansion, but we stay put. A sudden cracking sounds makes me stop. I look at Katniss, and she's still staring ahead. Did she not hear it? She couldn't have, it was so loud. It takes me a moment to figure out what the noise was.

It was my heart breaking.

I know it's short, and I know it's late, but wow! Wasn't that surprising? I was surprised writing it myself, I was just making it up as I wrote the chapter, and when I got to the end, I was like, "Oh, so we're writing this? Ok.". But, yeah! Shocking! Ah! Bad news, guys, this book is almost over. WAH! And, unfortunetly, there will not be a third book, that I know. I'm sorry. This fan fiction is almost closed. What will I do with my life afterwards?
