I resist myself not to scream. Screaming would give me away. I bite the inside of my cheeks until I tast blood, and finally start muffling into my arm. Katniss pulls on my arm, giving me a threatning look.
She puts her finger to her lips, and I nod understandingly. I just can't believe Haymitch is dead. It's just as hard to believe when I thought Katniss was dead. Except this time, I watched him die. There's no faking for him. When the guards have finished cleaning up Haymitch, and have scattered throughout the house, we come out from our hiding spot.
She pulls me silently, and I wonder how she can be so quiet, until I remember that she did hunt back home. And unfortunetly, I sound so loud, my bare feet slapping against the marble floors. But, if she does hear my footsteps, she shows no sign of it.
We quickly make it over to her room, no one spotting us. She ushers me inside, and looks around, sighing to herself. Footsteps come from outside the door, and she pushes me into her closet, not closing it all the way, just enough for me to see what's going on outside.
The door swings open, and she lays down in time to look as if she had been relaxing the whole time. One man steps closer to her and stares at her hard, as if she had just said that President Snow was a terrible person, which he is.
"Where is she?" He asks in a demanding voice. I pray that they don't find out. Katniss stands, looking at them confused. The man scowls.
"Prim. I know she's here." He says. She coveres her mouth, and jumps around excitedly. Wow, she's good at this. If I were her, my tears would've given everything away. The man calms her down and forces her to sit.
"Don't be so excited," He says, a smirk crawling on his face. "she's as good as dead now. As soon as we find her." She glares at the man, and slowly shakes her head. I smile inside the closet. That's right, Katniss. They won't find me, and I'm not going to die. The man scowls one more time, and then exits the room. She sighs, but doesn't open the door. Through the crack I see her put her hands up and I immediately know what she means. Hold on. You can't come out right now. I nod, even though I'm sure she can't see me.
After what feels like forever, the door finally opens and Katniss pokes her head through. She hands me a plate of food, stuff I expect they were feeding her. It looks nothing like the gourmet food I was served coming into the Hunger Games, but it's food nonetheless. She smiles and leans down to me, smoothing the top of my head.
"I wish you could talk still," I whisper, taking the first bite of the food. It has some flavor, but that only lasts about ten seconds. She nods. Quickly, she places a kiss on my forehead and then opens the door, poking her head out. I guess it's clear, because she waves at me to come on.
I break free out of the closet, feeling like I just stepped outside after being stuck in a cave for a year. She smiles, and grabs my hand.
"Where we going?" I ask. She puts her finger up to her lips, a smirk on her face. It's a secret, Prim.
We glide across the marble floors, picking up speed. She directs me through different hallways, turning left and right quickly. The walls look like a blur to me, we're running so fast. She finally stops in front of a small door. Smiling, she creaks it open, and has me step inside.
The room is filled with roses. Rows upon rows os roses. Red roses, white roses, they are all so beautiful and perfect. I pick one up and bring it to my nose. I had never really enjoyed smelling flowers, but once I saw the roses, I immediately fell in love. Katniss plucks one and hands in to me, curtsying while doing so. I smile and take it from her.
"Where did you find this place?" I ask. She shrugs her shoulders. I smooth the petals on the rose.
"These are all so pretty." I whisper.
"Aren't they?"
I whirl around quickly, dropping my roses. I am filled with worry and I wait for Snow to come and attack me, but instead I only see the smile of Cinna.
"Cinna!" I cry, running over to him to give him a hug. He laughs and calms me down.
"What are you doing here?" I ask.
"I was sent by Snow. He ordered me to make hima special body suit. Bullet proof." He tells me. I nod, worry taking over me again.
"He's after me. And he hijacked Gale." I whisper, looking down. He nods. "I know. I knew right after he hijacked Gale that you would come." He says. I twitch the corners of my mouth.
"So I made you something."
I look up quickly, looking at him curiously. He smiles and leaves the room. When he comes back, a beautifully carved bow and arrow is in his hands. I gape my mouth open.
"This is beautiful," I say, taking the bow. He shrugs. "How did you do this? You're a fashion designer, not a bow maker." He smirks.
"A lot about me you don't know." He says. I continue to stare at the bow, still lost in it's trance. I glance up at Katniss, and she almost rips the bow from my hands. I know she dearly wants to use it. It only makes sense. Cinna clears his throat and I look back at him.
"I hope your aim has gotten better, so you can kill Snow." He says. My eyes widen a little. "I'm going to kill him?" I ask. Cinna looks at me as if I'm crazy.
"Well, why wouldn't you?" He asks I glance at Katniss.
"Because she has just every reason to kill him as I do." I say. She looks down and shakes her head. I roll my eyes.
"You should. He cut your tongue." Again, she shakes her head.
"But-"
I am about to continue arguing until I look at her eyes. They stare at me coldly, and she only does that when she really wants me to stop doing something. I shut my mouth and turn back to Cinna.
"I'll do it." I whisper. Cinna smiles and nods.
"I knew you would. I have a bullet proof outfit for you too, we just need to go get it." He says. Silently, we walk out of the room and once again turn down the maze-like hallways. We pass by a number of doors and I wonder what Snow could possibly need all those rooms for. It makes me shudder when I think that not too long ago, I went into one of these rooms, and was attacked by who I thought was my best friend.
"Hurry up!"
I glance up and notice that I am far behind. I have to run, and regret it afterwards since I make so much noise. Katniss gives me a small glare, but quickly softens her face and takes my hand.
"This is where I make everything." Cinna says, stopping in front of a room. "You should see it. It's so beautiful inside, I fall in love everytime I walk inside." A small smile makes its way onto my face as he opens the door.
The room has marble walls, covered with gorgeous paintings. Dresses, shoes, pants and other props are on racks spread out everywhere. I examine one of the dresses.
"Cinna, did you make all these?" I ask. He nods and steps into the room, Katniss quietly following.
"Every last one of them." He says proudly. I roll my eyes. "Well, they are fabulous." I say in my Capitol accent.
"Quite true."
I jump suddenly and we all turn around. The door squeaks closed and all the good thoughts I was having fade away when I see Snow standing behind the door.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Do not rant to me about how bad that chapter was. It was short and stuff, but for now, it had to do. Next chapter will be very short, but it will also be very important so that one is coming up very soon. (Since it's a short chapter.)
So yay, guys! I'm done with school! (Pretty much) So my summer plans to write are free! But the only bad part is that this book is almost over. Literally, I think I'm writing three more chapters and then I'm done. O.O AH!
