You stood beside your brother staring down at the massive jump. Then the bandage around your lower stabilizer from the previous test. You looked at Starscream. Both of your were jumping at the same time to the Commander can compare your skills, you had to make Star look better.
"Well are you ready?" You spoke
"I-I... umm.." he was nervous at the daunting height, "At the same time."
You nodded.

On cue you both jumped. Instantly you spread your protoform limbs being whipped by the wind. You saw the massive target. You scanned the area seeing the slopes on either side. You shot your idea to your brother and he looked at you as though you were crazy.
":;Do you want to be a seeker or not!?;:" you shot over the bond
With his help you managed to press both of your pedes together. Tears edged your optics in the wind as you crouched.

2..
3!
You pushed against his pedes redirecting your protoform you managed to turn yourself so your pedes hit the slope and immediately began to slide down. Your stabilizers quivered in the struggle to keep yourself up right. The bottom of your pedes burned at you hit the outer edges of the target moving towards the center.
You failed to notice the anyone else and slammed into your brother causing him to screech as you both tumbled down. The area you both stopped in flashed a bright white and you sighed.
"Just fifty..." you spoke tiredly
You had needed to score at least sixty to really be considered.
"All participants please report to the stage." The crackle of the over head spoke
~
You stood beside your brother your wings held tense. The large-peded commander paced before all of you telling a flyer to step forward occasionally. He passed both you and your brother and your shoulder plates dropped feeling his disappointment wash over you. You stared at you unimpressed sire not even paying attention to what's going on.
The seeker commander walked up to the mic and began his speech, though something was off the script.
"... Now, I am going to do something that the judges may not like it, but they can suck it." He took the mic in his servo and began walking the line again, "Although their performance was average, the way they did it was unique. He stopped at the bot before your brother and he looked extremely excited, "Now with my own voice and trust from the other commanders, I would like to introduce my personal picks for the Seeker Select." He stared at you and your brother, "Starscream and (y/n), please step forward."
You allowed a large smile onto your face as you looked at your brother who was struggling to contain his own excitement. You stepped forward into the line straightening your back strut.
He continued on with his speech and you were practically shaking with excitement to much to listen. A tired-done-with-your-scrap secretary handed you a sheet stating the where and when you needed to meet. They dismissed everyone. Both you and Starscream bolted pass your confused scumbag sire and didn't stop until you swung open the front door and up into your shared berth room.
You laughed loudly Starscream crushing you in a hug. This was good, all was good.
~
You stood gripping your siblings servo on the tram. You were going to the seeker city, Cyatatis, to train. The doors opened and bots began to set out getting swept into the wind. You shivered the tram that never stops was an appropriate title for this. You stepped to the edge gripping your shared bag with Star. You placed a pede out and let yourself fall into the nothingness.
Before long you transformed spotting your brother close behind. You transformed and landed on the grounder walk they had here and looked back at your brother with a smile. Together you rushed to the center rushing passed some grounder and seeker pairs.
~
After checking in you placed your belongings on a converter belt and went to the training center. A group of bots soon walked forward their wings held highly cocky.
"So you two are the Seeker Select?" The lead sneered, "What makes you two so special? You both scored lower than by brother? Why wasn't he selected for this hmm?"
You were about to angrily snap at him when the commanders voice flooded in, "Because they were the only ones to realize that they didn't need to strike down the other competitors to win, the only ones to realize that the points weren't the most important part, Cadet Wingnut."
He apologized profusely and the group quickly ducked away. The commander nodded back towards the line starting to form. You grabbed Star's servo and walked towards the line.
~
"... These, are your thrusters. You're most important piece of equipment." The mech spoke as you stared at the large step in pedes, "They will connect to your nervous systems and to your bones. And I'm not gonna sugar coat this. It will hurt. A lot." You shifted slightly, "We will need to cut off the padding of your current pedes."
You were sat down as the medic behind you placed a strap of metal with on your intake. You watched the blade as the other medic held the bottom half of your stabilizer down. As he began to cut down your pede to arched in pain the medics grip on you tightened as he reached the bottom. You whimpered loudly as he cut off what he missed. You latched your jaw down on the metal as he cut down your other one. The medics moved on away from you and you looked at your brother being helped up by the nurse.
You slowly struggled to your pedes. You shivered in pain as your stinging pedes. You stumbled towards that of your new pedes keeping the tears in your optics as you bit harshly on your inner cheek. No bot else had even moved so close to their thrusters. You looked back to see the nurse who was supposed to help you gathering your pede scraps. She walked to you and took your servo.
"Ok now darling, since you really didn't need my help getting up, just step into your new thrusters." She said with a cheerily.
Slowly with a wince you placed your left pede in first then your right. You released a startled and pained shout when the thrusters snapped shut around your pedes. Your protoform quivered feeling millions of sharp stabs. You released a strangled cry then something was thrust on either side of your stabilizer and connected to the bone. A pained tear escaped your optic against your will as you crushed the servo in yours.
Suddenly all the pain faded. And your faceplate unscrunched. The nurse hummed and stepped in front of you taking both of your servos. She slowly began to tug you forward. You stumbled at the heavily weight on your pedes. She hummed and told you in a soft voice to take it slow and how it's always weird the first time.
This is gonna be a struggle.

Yay. A flash back chapter!~ ok so my headcannon for tfa is that the pedes like what Starscream has, aren't what they are born with, but placed on when they train to be seekers. Yeah it's dumb, but I like it.
